I used SheaMoisture Shea Butter Leave In as a moisturizer (indicates on the bottle that it can be used as a moisturizer). So, I can't compare it as a leave-in.

Yes, on dry hair. It's a thick product, and my hair loves thick moisturizers when I wear protective styles (which is most of the time).
