So I am almost Full Bsl but cuz I am texlaxed and very very mild at that I am having a really hard time with shrinkage, my new growth comes in really really quickly so it makes my hair even thicker.
My almost BSL length shrinks up to SL!Since I try not to manipulate my hair at all I don't really rollerset or use heat what so ever I can't really see if I am making any progress its really putting me down yall!:wallbash:
Anyone out there going through the same thing??

It's one of the reasons (in a weak moment) that I went from texlaxed to relax. I don't know if I'm going to regret my decision but I know that there are a lot of relaxed ladies here so I don't feel soooo bad.

LOL but, yes I was having this problem because my hair would just shrink up soooo bad and just look awful. I was tired of fighting 1000 different textures in my hair.

I have shrinkage (I'm 100% natural and 4B) but it doesn't get me down. Like Rosie, I think it's actually really cool that besides having the option of wearing my hair straight or curly, I can also wear it short or long. You know it's growing because you know it's not at SL but at BSL. So why are you feeling down? Who are you trying to prove to that you have length? The only people that are fooled by shrinkage are people who don't own the hair so don't know the truths it hides. So stop worrying about what others see and just have fun with your hair. Look forward to the day you will wear it straight and the oohs/aahs you'll hear.

So you know you're not alone dealing with shrinkage, check out the thread on shrinkage: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=345513

Hey ,

I was thinking bout getting my hair relaxed bone straight how did you go about doing it???
I just really prefer my hair straight most of the time...the only reason I texlaxed was cuz I like the thickness and I was scared my hair would look limp!

Well I just did a self corrective. It was almost like doing a virgin relaxer but I left the last three inches alone. That was the part of my hair that was still relaxed and that I was going to chop off anyway when my hair got to at least BSL.

Shrinkage is the reason I still have 3 inches of relaxed hair (that I will slowly get trimmed away).

Why don't you try braid outs on dry hair or bantu knots? If you want to wear your hair straight all of the time anyway than why does shrinkage matter?
