Ypu know what bludacious, I've wondered the same thing as well. Also I've noticed that my hair comes out better when I "smooth" it down.

I smoothed but in the end everything wasn't okay!

Souns like you will need a corrective relaxer to fix your underprocessed hair. I would be VERY gentlye with my hair. Protective styles only and keep well moisturized. You might want to go to a stylist who you trust to do the correction in about 4 - 5 weeks.

No in that you use the same relaxer but Yes because you apply it differently. You will apply it on the previously relaxed hair that is underprocessed. But you have to be careful b/c you don't want to overporcess. That's why I suggested using a stylist.

Okay I relaxed last night. I used Elasta QP Mild(my mistake). The relaxer didn't take. Now what do I do?

I think Elasta QP relaxers might be crap!
Last time I relaxed my hair I used Elasta QP regular, I think I left it on longer than the recommended time, and my hair was underprocessed.

If you go for a corrective, make sure they don't use Elasta QP! Or Motions for that matter...

ITA with everything you said. I had a couple of bad experiences with both Elasta and Motions relaxers. I love their other products though!

bludacious, I would wait at least 4 weeks and then try again. I have done corrective relaxers at home, but I was comfortable with it. If you aren't, definitely see a stylist. You may want to use a better mild relaxer for the corrective. I used Mizani (super though) on my last touchup and this is 100x better than Motions/Elasta IMHO. Good Luck!

If you see my thread about my relaxer disaster, it was Elasta QP Regular. It did not process my hair at all. I had streched to 20 weeks so now my hair is looking like 26 post relaxer. I was feeling like Argghhhhh until yesterday when I got my first Dominican Blowout and now it's nice and straight.

But yea, I ain't feeling Elasta QP Relaxers at all.

Thanks, I must admit your blow out was off the chain. The shine was awesome. I heard alot about the Dominican Blowout. I might have to try it.
