Turned out Wizzack

my hair is too thick for it  My hair didnt turn out smooth at all, I think I need to do it the regular way

:(

How many ponytails did you make? I had trouble with the last one I tried as well but I think I'll try it again. Mine wasn't smooth either and the curls were limp and too soft. I think it was because I didn't use lottabody.

I had like 10 or 11 of them ...

my hair is really really thick though. I only used water, leave in, serum and grease for my ends

I will try a regular rollerset again soon

I am in a pony today, I will Fars it for the rest of the week , Protective style next week and try it again

Khandi if it didn't turn out smooth maybe you are not making sure the ends are soaking wet and clinging to the roller. Tell us step by step what you did. Oh and are you applying the grease before or aftrer you dry? That will make a difference.

Ok I am no expert by any means but I've done it wrong enough to know what I can do right.

Sounds like the poo and con are alright. Its been my experience that starting with soaking wet hair will make for a smoother set. So I cover my hair with a plasic cap while I get all my stuff together.

I find that the best sets are sone with minimal amounts of products so I use a leave in and a serum. I see you like a setting foam so that's ok too. Drop the grease though, it may be too heavy. If you can replace with a serum on your ends (NTM or Fantasia Olive Oil work very well). Apply the leave in and foam to your wet hair all over and a dab of serum on the last 2 inches of hair as you roll.

You need to make sure before you roll you hair is wet to dripping. So wet that you ends almost cling to the roller. Be sure to pull the roller taut as you roll up. End papers help the ends stay smooth as you roll but they make your dry time a little longer. Most importantly your hair MUST be totally dry before you take them down. If they are even a little damp you will have frizz in a matter of minutes.

If you must use grease use it once you take the rollers down. I've found that heavy grease and oils add to your drying time as well. Serum even a light one works better to ensure smooth ends.

HTH.

Oh yeah I forgot to add that if my thick hair can turn out decent with a ponytail rollerset yours can too. Keep trying. :)

Try, try again girl :). I do 10 or 11 as well. The first one I tried came out so good though. I can't figure out what I did wrong last time. I seriously think it was the lottabody. It helps my set be smooth and silky and have great curls. I know, don't you hate it when something you try comes out bad and you end up in a ponytail :(.
