I have not been good with sitting under the hair dryer with my conditioners....so I bought myself a heating cap! (Using it as I speak with my emergence!:D ). Does anyone else have one of the babies....and if so how often is enough? I can just see myself going into deep conditioner over load! HA!

Hey Tonya! I have a heating cap, the kind you plug into an outlet. Now I can sit in my room and do a little cleaning instead of sitting in the bathroom under the hooded dryer ;) It's going great so far!

I have one, and I use it every time I wash my hair (weekly), with my protein AND moisturizing conditioners. Love it!!

I have two heating caps I love it because my conditioners seem to work better with heat.

I have a Mastex heating cap. I purchased it a few years ago. I use it every blue moon. I like using my hooded dryer moreso for deep conditionings (since the heat is evenly distributed).

Hmmmm....:scratchch: I've been really wanting to get one because I was so tired of having to sit so still under my hooded and plus me and my daughter have had to use it at the same time. However, I wondered if it was like a bonnet dryer where the heat is mainly focused on the back, basically wherever the hose is.

Allandra, does it remind you of a bonnet dryer? Can you feel the heat more so focused in one area or another?

~op~

Well I ahve the Gold N Hot one and I did protein and moisturing....not as hot as I would liek but it was still nice.

I swear by it. I think mine is Gold n' Hot too. I think the heat distribution is even in mine and I like that my hair feels like it's been steamed in the cap. I turn mine on before I get in the shower to poo so that it's nice and toasty when I get out. I use it on high only b/c I think that setting is most effective for me and it never gets really hot. I used to use it everytime I washed, but once a week is typical unless I'm CW'ing daily (summer).

i've had mines for maybe 6 yrs or more now and i love it, i use to use it every week for my deep condition and hot oil treatment. I even used it with my braids.

Are you referring to the soft bonnet dryers? Here's a picture of a Mastex Heating Cap: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/tabou-5511/therspaprofc.html It doesn't remind me of my soft bonnet dryer. My soft bonnet dryer does a pretty good job at distributing heat (meaning the main focus isn't on the back - where the hose is). BTW, I use my hard bonnet dryer WAY more than my soft bonnet dryer.

Yes, I'm referring to bonnets. My bonnet doesn't distribute the heat at all. Since you mentioned that the cap didn't distribute the heat evenly enough in your opinion. I just wondered if the Heating Cap focused on one place.

I used to use mine a lot weekly a few months ago. Now I'm finding that I don't really need the extra heat (i'll cover with a towel instead) but it is great for deep conditioning.

I had a Gold & Hot one, but I lost it when I was staying on campus :cry3: Now I don't use heat for conditioning unless I'm doing an aphogee.

I have the micorwaveable heat cap with the gel caps and that works great for me, because I could not sit still under a stationarydevice. Bonjour

I've had a Kaz heating cap for a long time now...and broke it out of the closet again last year. It's a good lil friend to have. About to go sit under mine now for a bit.

This sounds interesting......:scratchch: Where do you get one of these?

I stopped using my heating cap so often and saw an improvement in my hair... much less tangles and my hair is softer. Before I had used the heating cap 2x per weeks for more than a year.

Maybe my hair just doesn't like heat period. Even heating cap heat.

I have tried that gold colored cap... the one that is supposed to trap your body heat and it's way less hot than even a heating cap on low. That works good for me and I use it once a week.

I use the heating cap 2x per month now, for my protein conditioners and for the moisturizing conditioners that I use after them.
