It's a combination of medications and stress.:nono:

She uses a relaxer, but her hair looks more "texturized" than anything else because she has such fine hair, she can't leave it on that long.

I would say that her hair type is 3 something, since mine is a lot curlier.

Any recommendations? I was going to order her some Hairveda items when I order mine.

I am sorry about your mom's hair loss. It is important to realize that aging can cause hair to thin, especially after "the change". The add-hair.com website has a lot of good info. You might find it helpful:

I really do believe diet can have a great impact on total health and slow down the deterioration of cells, so incorporating more of an alkaline causing diet might help: Detailed Listing of Acid / Alkaline Forming Foods

Does she color as well? The relaxer/color combo is thinning my mom's hair. I'm trying to force her to only use color and stop relaxing. My mom has soft, very fine hair. I'm trying to think of what Hairveda products could help....maybe Sitrinillah?

would she consider going natural for awhile?

I don't know. I'll have to ask her.

Yes! When I went home for Christmas she was using the relaxer/color combo thingy! And Doo Goo. It slayed my soul.

So it appears that I will have a three-fold attack.

1. Bring her stress levels down
2. Change her diet. Way too much soda!
3. Stop with the crappy hair products.

She would do good to drink plenty of purified water-half her body weight or more in ounces. If she's on medication, she should keep her system flushed out.

Water makes hair grow and thicken.
