I was telling her, my hair is the same thickness, there is just more of it here, and it appears to be thicker...Am I wrong? Is she right?

Unless your texture has become curlier or coilier, there's no reason to use a stronger relaxer. Don't let your mom do it!

I agree. Since you have so much newgrowth if you use a stronger relaxer you won't be able to leave it on as long and more than likely come out with underprocessed hair.

My thoughts exactly. I would even recomend using a gentle relaxer just so you have enough time to put it on and let it process.

I have a similar question... Would you ladies recommend leaving the regular strength relaxer on longer when I relax? I'm about 21 weeks post right now. Last time I stretched about 15 weeks and then went to the salon for a relaxer. My hair dresser said she left the relaxer on longer because she wanted it to be real straight. She said she contemplated using a stronger relaxer but since she knew my hair was thin she decided against it. Was that wrong? I mean, leaving it on longer. I plan on relaxing in a few weeks and I'm debating on if I want to go back to her or not. Just curious...

My friend suggested the same thing to me yesterday about using super since I stretch.

I don't really understand the need to use something stronger just because you stretch. If the hair hasn't changed then whats the need?

True, when I did my last relaxer I did leave it on a few minutes longer because my texture had changed (and still is) so it was necessary.

If your texture hasn't changed, then there's probably no need.
