So, she has all kinds of damage to her hair because he mom does absolutely nothing with it. She combs it all by herself at the age of 9!! I'm getting ready to go to work on her head. I have some products from Hairveda that I love. Any suggestions as to get her back on track? She's mixed she has very thick I guess 2a hair. I'll post pics in a second.

Wash and deep condition first and foremost please...I have feeling that maybe her hair is more dry than damage....still gorgeous though :look:

I'm about to wash now...and I was also going to steam while I Deep condition it. You're very right it's extremely dry. She flat irons her own hair as well I haven't fully examined it but I'm sure there's some heat damage in there.

Aside from moisturising/sealing regularly and deep conditioning, maybe you can incorporare hot oil treatments with coconut oil for example, to help with the dryness of the hair. Considering you think she has some heat damage, it may be a good idea to hold off on styles that require heated tools like flat irons or blow dryers.

Wow that little girl has done well if her Mummy does nothing with it.

She can put it in a ponytail. But she does NO Detangling! This is a struggle right now trying to comb it out. I'm using the big tooth shower comb! And she's tender headed

Washed conditioned and detangled

i don't see the damage from the pictures... is it possible that her hair isn't damage afterall? some people are just blessed with the most resilient hair....

Her hair is extremely pretty. Why does her mother not feel the need to do a 9 year old's head? And she's a 2a you say? I mean nothing by this because every hair type has its own struggle but I can't imagine she'd have a life altering experience trying to detangle 2a hair.

Her hair is gorgeous. Since mommy doesn't want to be bothered with her hair it would benefit your cousin if you would teach her the basics of how to properly care for her hair. I was doing my own hair at that age too and it wasn't pretty.

After I finished with it, it was beautiful! So I guess not. It was just so damn dry and napped up! And I know she flat irons it herself. I assumed she probably did some damage.

It's very thick but the curl pattern isn't tight maybe 2b but when it's NEVER detangled it gets knotty. It was ridiculous how matted it was in the back. It's easier to setane my 4b hair than it was for me to detangled that. Idk why her mom doesn't
Comb it. She's not a very involved mom all the time.

I am glad she has you u in her life. I have a mother like hers, only I was practically bald headed at her age. Bravo!!!
