Ok Ladies I did my braid out and it came out awesome to me for a second try. At school and work today I got so many compliments. I'm always super nervous when I change my hair up and most of the time I will quickly bun or ponytail it up even if I think it looks good.

I need a little help. The curls dropped quickly it was still curly but much of the curl was gone. What are y'all using to hold the curl? Also how do you get more curl definition close to the scalp? I can't braid. I'm gonna do a refresher tonight and post more pictures tomorrow. This is an awesome no heat style.

The best solution I have found for longer "out" styles is to leave it set longer. One week in twists can give u about a 2 week twistout. Even if u wear your braids a full day or two, they will last much longer.

I love it. So pretty. I am trying to master the braidout. Tried one a couple of nights ago and ummm :nono:

U got a beautiful result, good job! What products did u use before braiding? I always use a combination of a moisture product (creamy leave in or conditioner) + a holding product (setting foam or mousse). This gives me touchable hold and keeps the curls defined all day :yep:

Thanks ladies for all the compliments. I've admired so many braid-outs and twist outs, but never thought they would look good on me. This id definitely going to be my style for the summer.

I need to purchase some type of setting foam. I only used oil, water, moisturizer, and humectress for this set. Do you think if I did it on soaking wet hair and got under a dryer it would last longer?

Your hair looks very pretty. To get more definition at the top maybe try putting a few extra plaits at the top and that should help. You can also rock the braids for a few days before undoing them.

Thanks again ladies and suggestion about good holding products?

Any light-hold mousse would give you the hold you need :yep:

I like Dove Body & Lift Mousse or Herbal Essences Totally Twisted.

I've also used ORS Olive Oil Wrap Lotion (foam) - works just as well

I have the ORS wrap foam and I do have some garnier fructis curl styles aslo. I'm going to try the ORS tonight!

i love the bump at the front, & how it was in contrast w/ the texture.
to get the waves close to the scalp you can do cornrows. maybe use some setting lotion or foam wrap to curl the ends (i'm just guessing since i don't use those)
