this sucks! i was all ready to do my deep conditioner yesterday morning, unfolded it and the hood came off with a sickening "CRACK!" my sister who saw the whole thing said: "This is the kind of thing that ruins your day". I had to narrow my eyes at her for stating the obvious. I had to heat up a towel and wrap it around my head for my DC. so Can i fix it, give it a proper burial :crying3: or just buy a new one? BTW.. i'm broke as hell.

Well I was gonna say buy a Pibbs, but those are really pricey.

Maybe you can experiment with blow outs or braid outs or something...maybe some bantu knots.

I'm sorry...hopefully u can get a new dryer soon.

Awww CD, that really sucks.

Can you do rollersets and just let them air dry until you can get another dryer? Or borrow one from a family member who doesn't use their's? My aunt has a hooded dryer that was just sitting there collecting dust because she always just air-dried her hair or got it done at the salon, so my mom borrowed it from her.

nope, my cousins in Miami have one just like mine that they never use but i'd have to rent a car and drive down there to get it myself.

I don't mind airdrying my rollersets but i used my dryer mostly for treatments and deep conditioning. I don't rollerset often.

I hear ya! I discovered mine was broken AFTER I put the hard Aphogee in last Friday. I know I won't be replacing it until fall. I did get a soft bonnet attachment for my pistol blow dryer from a LHCF member last week. That will have to do for DC'ing until then. I'll be blow drying the hard Aphogee into my head eight weeks from now too.

Sally's is having a sale on them this month. I've been looking around at some websites too.

Awwww, sorry to hear this. At least you hadn't just spent an hour loading your hair up with magnetic rollers with images of a beautiful roller set in your head and THEN this happening.

There's always a bright side.

I was just going to post this! I put my conditioner in and set the dryer up. When I turned it on it just hummed and had a burning smell! I'm so sick! It was a Christmas present.

You're in Tampa right? Try the Sally's by the Target near USF. They have them on sale for $25. It's pretty inexpensive and they last a awhile. Sorry about the loss, I had that happen once and I was sad for a minute...then m mommy bought me one for x-mas:)!!! Two years later, I still use it.

Thats right by my house. I was just in this sally's on sunday buying clips. Wal-mart may also have some inexpensive dryers also.
