what do you use from this line of products?
are they staples?
how long have you been using them?

im looking at the afrikoko lotion. it sounds good but i dont hear too much about this line on this thread so idk......what do you think?

Well, I would opt for the samples before purchasing her bigger products. The ingredients are great, but the actual product itself may have you disappointed. For ex, some of her conditioners are very thin and liquidy, not good for slip. I remember using her honeynutt butter and that stuff was hard as a friggin rock! Also, some of her products have strong smells.

If anything, I purchase her deep conditioners, like the Honey and Horsetail and Olive You!

I use products from this line. I like:

Moisturizers:
Honey Hair Creme (love - staple)
Type 4 Hair Creme (love - staple)
Caribbean Hair Creme (jury still out - makes my hair very silky, but doesn't provide as much sheen as the Honey or Type 4)
Coconut Hair Milk (as a moisture spritz on dry hair - staple)
Sweet Almond Hair Milk (a little more emollient than the coconut version)

Deep Conditioners
Coconut Papaya Hair Paste
Honey Hair Mask
Molasses Hydrating Deep Conditioner

Since the conditioners are made up primarily of oils and butters, I found that they work much better for me on dry hair. I use them as pre-shampoo treatments, followed by a mild cleanser and regular conditioner. I really like using them this way.

I didn't have much luck with the regular conditioners - they were very thin and seemed to rinse completely away (leaving very little conditioning).

The shampoos were okay. I liked the Almond Creme Scalp Cleanser and the HoneyBee Sweet Scalp Exfoliator. I needed to use an ACV rinse with the Almond Creme (since it is soap-based), but the Scalp Exfoliator has malic and citric acids as part of the formula so ACV rinse wasn't needed. Both cleansers left my hair very soft. I will repurchase the Scalp Exfoliator.

Definitlely try the samples first and experiment with them before purchasing the full sizes.

ETA: I actually have the Afrokiko Lotion. I think it is a good product. However, it is very similar to the Sweet Almond Hair Milk as far as texture and performance. I prefer the hair milk because it has a mild/slight fragrance - I didn't like the fragrance of the Afrokiko. I would be willing to send it to you since I don't use it. Let me know.

I have a the Honey Hair Mask, the OliveYou and the So Deep Conditioners. I like them! I also like the Honey Hair Cream (but put it away for Fall/Winter:perplexed).

Want to get the Coconut Papaya Hair Paste and the Molasses DC'er.:yep:

I really liked the ACV rinse and Honey Hair Mask. I had a few other products from her, but I dont remember the names (sorry). Her customer service is great. She answers emails and sends packages quickly.

All I use is the Honey Hair Mask! I LOVE THAT!! and the scent lingers on my hair for several days and my hair is always soft, I tried everything else she had, but it didn't work for me!! But the service is good and she does ship quick and reply.

I tried a few products none are staples but I don't have anything bad to say about any of them.

Honey Hair Mask - smells wonderful, but while it gave me moisture I like a heavier DC
Type 4 Hair Creme - smells like peppermint but it was moisturizing on my hair.
Honey Hair Creme - love the smell!!!! BUT for me it wasn't as moisturizing as the Type 4 creme
Sophia's Old Fashioned Grease - if you like grease you'll love this. Smells like peaches, and is a real old school grease. I actually want to keep this in my rotation but that depends if I use anything else from the line. Cause just to order this for $5.50, it wouldn't be worth it cause the shipping would be more than the product.

I loved the Caribbean Hair Creme on me and my dd's 3abc hair. It smells so good and it's not to heavy and we had incredible shine. However, the last few batches I got were watery and inconsistent.. AND her prices and shipping were pretty high. I've since found alternatives that I like better.

I still have some of her peppermint deep conditioner. I like it but again, the shipping costs keep me from reordering and I can find cheaper alternatives at the store.

Her customer service was great though.

recently i tried her type 4 cream and couldnt get past that smell of peppermint lol. i loved the honey hair cream but didnt like the fact that there is no water in it and i didnt want to walk around smelling like syrup lol.

I use her type 3 & 4 creme for me it's not worth the price BUT if you have 4b hair or are light with products I'd say try the type 3. I use it as a leave for detangling or for defining my curls and its a charm just too darn heavy and the type 4 is a total butter almost like shea butter so if you like that kinda thing u should purchase. The type 4 made my hair shiney but I didn't get ANY of the moisture promised on the product description. The type 3 gives control as promised and some moisture doesn't leave hair crunchy but I'm only using it til it's gone

I used myhoneychild dcs for the longest time. Her dcs are all i've tried from the line. I love her honey hair mask and olive you dc. I've pretty much tried all of her dcs and those are the best imo. Some of them smell funny but work well like her peppermint hair paste, so deep con, and sophia thick and healthy mask. I was faithful to her products until recently. I've since found aubrey organics and they've trumped her dcs.
