Ladies I think I've made a HUGE mistake...

So, my hair has been doing wonderfully. My hair is relaxed and I got it highlghted in November and my hair has still been doing wonderfully. Last week I got a color touchup. And it really kinda sucked. I mean, I just couldn't really tell anything. She didnt use any bleach this time and I just couldn't really see any difference. So, today I did the unthinkable... I dyed it again. I only did the front and it was only in for about 15 min. But, it feel so crunchy right now. It's not coming out but, I am super scared for my hair health. Right now I am DC'ing with Giovanni 50/50, ApHogee 2 Min, Honey...

I feel like a freakin idiot. I had all the answers, my hair was doing sooo good. I mean really good, and now I may have damaged it for good.:wallbash:

Somebody PLEASE tell me everything gonna be alright.:look:

P.S. I'm 7.5 weeks post...

I know the feeling all too well, but try to stay positive. It's not breaking so that's definitely a plus. Finish the DC and reassess the situation.

I would go into baby mode and really keep a keen eye on your hair. You should be fine...but I wouldn't do anything else to it! LOL
oh......and I wouldn't relax anytime soon.......

How did your DC go? Personally, I wouldn't consider the 50/50 a deep conditioner...if you look on the back of the bottle I think it shows that it's a medium type conditioner. Giovanni Smooth as Silk is the deep one.

Anyway, I think all you can do is baby your hair, keep on top of your protein, and stay away from heat for a bit. Don't be too discouraged. And if it does end up breaking off a bit, just cut yourself some bangs and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

Thanks Ladies,

I still have the DC on my hair and my hair feels much better. I figured that the 50/50 wasnt a good DC, but that all I could find in my PJ closet. I need to stock up some more. I am gonna go into baby mode. I mean absolute total baby mode. DO you think it would be bad to do a rollerset or should I be even more baby mode than that??

Thank you soooo much for responding...

As mentioned above, you should deep condition, reassess the problem and then baby your hair. I think babying should include low manipulation. Hang in there; you'll be fine.

Also make sure
you keep your
hair very moisturized..
coconut, sweet almond oil..

*I had highlights before*

Your hair has now entered the intensive care unit. I say keep your hair moisturized and sealed with natural oils. Especially after you've used protein to rebuild your hair structure. Let your hair airdry, tuck the ends under, wear your silk scarf, and keep it up for the next few weeks. Take a look at your hair strands and especially your ends to check for splits along the strands. If you don't see any significant signs of breakage then you will be fine.

Also, I would say stay away from heat right now or anything that will snag your hair.

This happened to me before...if you can, get a steam treatment (preferably with the affirm 5in1 reconstructor followed by humecto) at your salon. Your hair will look and feel a lot better.
Then just keep it very moisturised.
