Nothing is helping. I've switched to using carrot oil on my ends and still use olive oil (the tub). I'm still having no improvement. I'm so worried cos it's just too dry. It wasn't like this before when it was shorter. Whats happening? please help.

I agree. You should use a water based moiterizer and then follow up by sealing it with the oil.

I agree with this. Also, oils do not moisturize they just help you seal in moisture.

I agree with mw138 and bella - Deep condition.

Have you clarified lately or used protein? You could have product buildup.

Maybe your hair isn't reacting well to the carrot oil. I would apply a light moisturizer like keracare leave in, NTM, sidr tree butter or something like that) apply very lightly on dry hair. Do a crosswrap and wrap saran wrap around your head very tightly. Put a scarf on and sleep. In the morning take it down.

Apply a light oil, like jojoba, almond, vatika, coconut oil lightly alll over hair and a cream moisturizer sealed with oil on the ends. Pin hair up. Repeat for three more days. Do a conditoner wash with pree poo on the third day then repeat for another three days. Then wash with a moisturizing shampoo and DEEP CONDITION for AT LEAST 30 minutes.

By the end of 7 days your hair should no longer feel dry. I had a really bad dry spell a few weeks ago. And now my hair is back to normal. I usually wash my hands and touch my hair to see if its still soft, with all the oils washed off of my hands. Its still very soft and mositurized even when my hands are freshly washed.

CARROT OIL DRIED MY HAIR OUT!!!

Check out some of the moisturizing poo and conditioner threads.

I've been using design essential moisturizing retention poo EXCELLENT PRODUCT to me it is the cadillac of poos but one that you can find anywhere is Creme of Nature poo

For moisturizer conditioners I suggest the following:

Kenra moisturizing conditioner
Biolage Conditioning balm
Aubrey's GPB

and my last two tips.

Drink a spoonful of olive oil daily
drink tons of water.

I deep condition once a week but i will definately try your suggestions maybe i'll leave the carrot oil alone for a bit also. I'm in the UK, so i cnt find NTM anywhere but i'll look for keracare. Thanks everyone. I'll try your suggestions.

If you use direct heat in your hair, you may want to take at least 2 weeks off from using all heat appliances. During this time, only do braidouts, straw sets, or rollersets. depending on what will work for your length.

Get some creamy leave-ins. Right now I am really likeing Cream of Nature aloe & tea tree cream hairdress. When my hair gets dry African Royale braid spray fixes me right up. You can use it any time. It's got lots of herbs in it.

Have you ever tried co-washing? that might help.
Do you use infusium? if you do, you might want to leave that alone for a while. Too much of that will dry you out.

And yes. Increase the amount of water you drink daily.
