Oh, why did you trim? Were your ends dry, frizzy and damaged, or just dry and frizzy?
Well, the good thing about hair is that it grows back, and you now have freshly clipped ends.
I have been reading up on the subject of frizz. The humid weather has gotten the best of my ends as well. According to the information I read, most frizziness is caused by a lack of moisture in the hair. The hair is dehydrated, dried out.
So, I believe what your hair needs is a good moisturizing conditioner when you shampoo. I don't know what you use on your hair, but I have read some good product reviews about the following:
*Infusium 23 Power Pac Revitalizing Conditioner
*Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner
*Pantene Pro-V Frizz Control Smoothing Creme
I also suggest that you apply some sort of a lubricant as needed when to the ends when they feel dry and appear frizzy.
I recently iscovered Proclaim Spray On Glosser. It has worked effectively on my hair to combat dry, frizzy ends, and gives my hair a nice, healthy shine. This product may be used on dry or wet hair.
I happen to use the leave-in from Kenra, because I use the Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner from this product line.
Anyway, good luck, and, the hummidity won't last forever.
My hair is also very horrible in humid weather. I was VERY close to cutting my hair this weekend because of the way it looked after going out. I even made sure to do a hot oil treatment and used a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I hate that I can only wear my hair down when the weather it perfect...and in MS that is very hard to come by! When I wash it, it looks great, but when I hit the door
My hair is the same way. I have given up on wearing it out during the hot, humid summer. Nothing and I mean nothing combats the frizzy hair problem in the summer, at least not with my hair.
I live in FL and the only time my hair doesnt frizz is when its been flat ironed at the salon, which is rare, and it holds up for up to a week! But I dont use heat often so I cant enjoy frizz free hair on a regular basis.
Well at least it gives me a reason to wear protective styles, the ends wont frizz if they arent out and it doesnt look great frizzy anyway so I might as well wear it up.
A couple of things that HELP (not cure, HELP...lol) are Aveda Brilliant hair spray(it doesnt have drying ingredients) and some type of serum. When I wear braidouts I get minimal frizz with these two products....
the only way i can wear my hair down and make it look semi decent when it is humid is using HEat Glide by Redken and using a straighing iron. But, even that doesnt really cure frizziness completely.
Thanks for the reply ladies. I thought my ends were damaged so I trimmed them and the next day they were back to being dry and frizzy that was what made me realize it was the humidity. The rest of my hair is smooth and looks very healthy. I will definitely try some of your suggestions.
By the way how do you tell the difference between dry and frizzy ends and damaged ends????????
well if they are damaged u will probably have split ends, and they just look plain raggedy. I think if they were damaged they would look bad even when straightened.
One think Ive done when my ends are just really dry is moisten them with a spray bottle of water, put on a creamy leave in and/or my elasta qp recovery and then seal with oil and put it in a bun, when I take it down they are all better. nice and soft. I like it so much I do it all the time now when Im wearing it up and dont have to worry about it being weighed down.
i'm in arkansas and have the same issues...i cant wait till it cools off as far as hair is concerned...i had thought of snipping but nah...too much work i'd put into my hair and i realized it had to be frizzies cuz i do nothin to cause damage...its juss the weather...pantene works for my hair pretty good..but i dont think there is much to be expected..its juss gonna do that...so i have to live with it..
I'm sorry you trimmed your hair before you realized the humidity was to blame for your ends. It's a good thing that you know now, though, and won't cut off more next time you encounter that problem.
Humidity is bad for my hair, too. It makes my hair much fuller than I'd like and when I wear it out and straight, the style disappears.
my hair actually loves the humidity but thats prob because my hair is natural. i've justlearned that I can't get a press or anything straight june-sept
My hair is a joke in the summer time. Between working out and the humidity, I can forget about keeping a style. I just keep it bunned or braided up. I agree with CocoaButterflyy about the ntural part. When I was natural this was a non-issue as well.

Yeah, humidity AND working out are problems for my hair.
I did a cute rollerset on Saturday. My hair was all shiny and bouncy all weekend. I decided to work out yesterday evening and when I was done, my hair was a hot, sweaty, frizzy mess.
I wrapped it and tied it up and when I combed it down this morning it was still frizzy. I'm so frustrated.
