I'll be doing some serious moisturizing. I know that Henna is the culprit. I haven't been DC's after like I should and my hair feels so rough. A couple days of baggying should help huh?:freakout:

I would DC right away and then baggy for a few nights. Henna might not be the culprit but it is recommended that you do moisturize after using it. Hope you get that fixed!!!

I'm having the same problem right now due to a coloring experience in which I didn't DC properly. What has really helped me though has been co-washing especially with coconut milk. HTH

Try a series of deep conditioning with heat with a good moisturizing conditioner. This should help alleviate the dryness some and restore some pliability to your strands.

The title is very funny....I would deep condition and maybe try a conditioner wash too, that helps add moisture.

Do the conditioners you use contain protein? If so, that may be adding to the dryness. What about your leave-in is it a creamy one? I use Giovanni Direct, and it keeps my hair nice and moist even after I air dry.

I totally feel u on this- but I have to say glycerine is the TRUTH:cup: my hair is natural with colour [read extremely dry] and although my regimen (DC, co-wash every other day etc) and products (Aveda DR & Afrodetangler) have helped once my hair gets dry it was a different story. My daily moisture spray (rosewater, afrodetangler, infusium 23 and castor oil) was working ok but once I added glycerin:wow: try it its relative cheap and my sister has now "appriopriated" the whole bottle apparently its nice mixed with ur conditioner for DC as well.

I use the Salerm Protein Conditioner to deep condition once every 1-2 weeks. I use a regular conditioner during the week. I may have to cut the protein down to once a month if it's drying me out. I may try that.

I heard about it, but I don't know where to get the Giovanni Direct. I heard about that. Right now I only have Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine Leave-in Conditioner. It's creamy, but I haven't used it in a while. I'm on the REDKIN product train. Expensive for my taste, but I'm loving everything I buy from them! I'll look for a creamy leave-in conditioner next time I go to the store.

Thanks for the advice.

Hmmmmmm, glycerin. I keep hearing about this (nothing but great reviews). I'll have to see if they sell it at this natural food store 5 minutes from me. I may have to order. I'm willing to try almost (no monkey-ball sweat, etc.) any and everything.

Thanks HH

I have to order it from vitaminshoppe because I am overseas, but I know they sell it at Whole Foods or any health food store that may be in your area.

I love the title of this thread and just had to come in for that reason alone! :lachen:

I wanted to suggest that another culprit could possibly be your ends. Yesterday I had a signficant hair cut - not trim, but about 2 inches in some places - because my stylist looked at my hair and saw that my ends were in rough shape. For the past several weeks I have been lamenting the fact that my hair did not appear to retain any moisture. Granted, there are things I could have done differently, but looking back on it I did a pretty good job of keeping my situation moisturized. Well, once she chopped those bad boys off my hair feels a lot better and has retained moisture even though I was in the hot sun all day today. I hope this helps.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:Love the title. May I recommend Nexxus Phyto Organics Humectin or Kera Care Humecto. I also recommend Mizani H2O Night Treatment.

also try clarifying the moisture may not be getting into you hair if there is a buildup of product on it. I use Avalon Organics and I love it. I want to try thr Giovanni Direct but maybe later.

I was wondering about this too.

OP your hair looks lovely in your avatar...me likey! I hope you find a solution soon!

Are you having any breakage?

I think my hair is not getting enough moisture and as a result its breaking..not severly ..
