Hairsnob

Deep Thinker
Hello ladies,

I'm very happy with how my first loose bun/twist-out turned out so of course I snapped a pic this morning  (I always wonder what excuse I would use if someone came by my desk and saw me with my cell phone over my head taking a pic of my hair).

Anyway, I don't have enough hair for a good bun yet. So I wrapped some very old afro kinky hair in the bun part that I had lying around the house so it's kinda dry and the oil sheen didn't help much. I was really surprised that the twists actually turned out okay considering I didn't use setting lotion, only that Cantu shea butter oil stuff.

I'd like to know what you ladies think of it for my first time.

Thanks!

Oh wow Hairsnob...That is so pretty !!!

Traycee,

I actually just watched your Youtube video yesterday and got the idea and the nerve to try the loose bun!! :yep:

Thanks a lot!! I learned so much from you.

WOW that's pretty! I wish that I could wear buns. My hair's not thick enough.

I love a loose bun! this is pretty, nice going!!

Nice! :yep: I've tried the loose twist out bun, it looks very feminine.

How did you do it...is your hair pinned up or...?

HI,

I twisted the whole head and then when I took it out I sectioned it into threes. I took the two side sections and pinned them to the middle and the front middle (bang) I pulled back to cover the middle. The rest of the hair is in a loose ponytail holder with curly track hair wrapped around it.

I hope that wasn't too confusing the way I wrote these steps.:spinning:

Very pretty!

It looks great! You've inspired me to try something other than my boring old bun..

Denise,

My hair's not thick enough either. That's why I had to add the curly afro hair around the bun. You should try it.

There is a youtube video of Traycee showing the steps. I don't have the link but I'm sure you'll be able to find it.

Good luck!

It looks great. I need to try something like that. I'm tired of my bun.

It looks good! I might have to borrow this hairstyle:yep:
