TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I made a homemade version of the treatment and my hair loved it....except the stupid pieces of banana!:wallbash::rolleyes: My hair came out gorgeous, but the bananas have to go!:whip: I liked how moisturized my hair looked. I'm going to try it next time without the bananas! I added yogurt for the extra mile. I used honey, black strap molasses, yogurt, grapeseed oil, and a dollup of conditioner with it. I let it sit for an hour before I Cwed it out.

I've been using the caramel treatment as my deep conditioner for about a month now. The way I make mine is with Organic Molasses, Honey, Banana, Avocado, Wheat Germ Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut oil, Vegetable Shortening, and Buttermilk. I actually have some sitting on my head right now mixed with henna ! It really makes my hair feel moisturized, but I've noticed that you have to blend this mixture REALLY well because the bananas and avocado will leave debris in your hair. Other than that, it's great!

Ive also made my own in the past and had the same problem with the bananas. I was advised to use bananas once they have browned. I tried it myself and it made all the difference.

i made my own caramel as well. i didn't use bananas at all and still got the same results. There's an album about it in my fotki.

I did this treatment last Sunday. My hair came out nicely.

DDtexlaxd: You can use the pure, organic banana puree baby food to circumvent the banana chunks. I have done that, but my hand blender (the long, thin thing, not a mixer) does a great job of pureeing the banana.

I'm going to try this caramel treatment today

I'll use:
coconut oil
EVOO
Wheatgerm oil
molasses
acv
avocado
buttermilk
honey

That sound good?????

Where do I buy wheatgerm oil????

How much acv do I use?

TIA LADIES!!!

I did a similar treatment last weekend... I may have actually used the one from poochie....no banannas, avocado, etc...just organic molasses, conditioner, avocado moisterizer, castor oil, and glycerin....it made my new growth VERY SOFT, but not straight....it is supposed to soften new growth and helps stretch relaxers in answer to the above question...kind of like a mini touch-up but it works to varying degrees depending on hair type...

I'm going to use this to stretch my relaxers. I'm going to attempt longer stretches. I don't know how effective it will be since I tried it when I was natural, now that I'm relaxed, I'm hoping this will help me.
