My curl is falling...

Over the last few months, I've noticed that my curl pattern is getting looser and looser; and today after I shampooed, rinsed it with baking soda, and conditioned it, my curl pattern has almost completely fallen! Has this happened to anybody else, or could somebody throw some theories out there as to why this is happening?

Hi Pazyamor! I notice that your hair is blond. Could this be the reason your curl pattern is falling. I've put blond hi-lites in my hair once and it completely destroyed my curl pattern. I'm wondering if this could be the problem.

i agree, also do you flat iron it alot?

I cut off all the blond, that was originally the problem, and I flat iron once or twice a month...is that a lot?:perplexed

It depends on your hair. The front of my hair is a looser curl pattern, if I flat-ironed my hair once a year, it loosened up my curl pattern almost to the point that it was straight, and never quite bounced back. I've BC'd my hair several times because of it.

Thank you, I think that might be it, now that it's air dried a bit, the sides and half of the back are still pretty curly, but the front and the very back might never go back unless I chop it off

Thanks a lot Honeycomb and your puff is gorgeous!

Thank you! I had to learn the hard way that my curls don't like direct heat. I envy curlies that can flat-iron and not experience any damage. I've tried several flat-ironing techniques hoping that I could do it occassionally, but my curls said:nono::nono:, so I don't ever think I'll flat-iron again.

ditto Ive flat iron my hair ONCE since ive been natural and some parts never reverted back to natural as of yet ... and ummm yeah its causing my curls to act frizzy ...I have less curl definition now and some curls are just fallin ...so yes I attribute my curls fallin in one spot, to heat.
