FAILED!!!! I can't believe it! It barely took at ALL! I'm soooo mad right now! It's my regular Revlon relaxer that I've used for YEARS! I already know that it's because I used vaseline to base my scalp....at least I think that's why. My friend relaxed my hair like she always does but my hair said NOPE! On top of that, I got MASSIVE BREAKAGE!!! I give up. I think I'm just going back to my old stylist and let her cut whatever she wants. This is the third relaxer I've had that didn't take since I stopped going to my stylist a little over a year ago. I just can't do this whole hair care thing. I'll still moisturize and seal, but I'm going back to wrapping and flat ironing and washing once every two weeks. I guess I'm just not patient enough. Sorry ladies.:(

Don't be sorry. You have to do what is best for you and your hair. That's all and no explanations are necessary. But I can understand what you are talking about. Is it possible that you could have just gotten a hold of an old jar of relaxer? That happened to me with Bantu a couple of times. That stuff will usually knock the naps out! but I self-relaxed a couple of times and it did nothing! Sat on there for 45 minutes once and still nothing...of course, that was the time I ended up with that slick ball patch on the right side of my head...poor rinsing and neutralizing, I suspect....but I digress and ramble...

girl - I totally am feeling you right now on the relaxer tip. Don't give up on your hair care though ma! If you need to take a step back for a minute and go to the stylist cool, but don't give up. I am a relaxer reject myself which is making me contemplate the natural thang. But one day I promise you before I dip into natural it's gonna get right. I do recall on a thread someone saying that after some time your hair can get used to a product and it won't work - could that be it maybe??

Maybe you're right. I should have gotten my relaxer from the other side of town where the black people live. Not being racist, but I know that they don't keep old relaxers for too long. I'll try again in 4 weeks. I don't want to give up. I really want to prove to myself that I can grow long hair. I'll keep hope alive...
