THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! wow.
I am terribly overwhelmed by all of your kind words and comments!! My goodness..I have never received so much positive and heartfelt feedback from my hair in my entire life. It has touched me in so many ways, thank you all!
@septemberbaby This actually made me teary. Thank you!
tarheelgurl Thank you!
Once my newgrowth started taking up 50% of my head, my relaxed ends literally started to surrender themselves. I did do a mini chop in September 2011, but at that point I only had 3 or so inches of relaxed ends left. All throughout my transition my relaxed ends started to break and thin out no matter how much I babied them.
It really sucked, mainly because I wasn't ready to lose too much length. Then I thought to myself, "the entire point of transitioning is to get rid of my relaxed hair" So if my ends wanted to peace-out, fine. This mentality helped me a lot.
@ezina Thank You, my ends really had the potential to ruin a twistout!:
So I would pin curl the ends, and hold them with a clip like this

I enjoyed reading your story. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress.
Keep shining young lady, have fun and enjoy your natural hair!!!

Wow! Your hair looks great and your curls....ahhhh I'm jealous! I've been transitioning now for a little more than a year...and am going to wait until at least 2 years to start thinking about big chopping. Did you find your relaxed ends became really thin towards the end or were you able to retain most of them?
tarheelgurl Thank you!

@Nerd.
I love your transitioning hair! How were you able to blend the relaxed ends so well with the natural hair in that twist out?
