Please forgive me if someone has already posted this question.

Who was the first human to TRY MTG, and why? What made you go there? How much growth did you get?

Zeal,
from reading past threads, I believe that this product was originally formulated for humans and then somehow became a horse product for the ailments that it cured. I'm sure someone has a lot more knowledge about this product. Have you tried a search?

Mane and Tail is different from MTG. Mane and tail is manufactured by Straight Arrow and I do believe that it was formulated for horses and the owners started to use it as well. MTG was first formulated for humans by a barber, his clients love the product so much that it was a hit. He had a love of horses and he used the product on his favorite horse to cure it of whatever illness and word spread...MTG was originally meant for human use.

Really? MTG was made for humans? As bad as that stuff smells? My Mom told me she smelled my head to day. She could smell it through and instant weave and a hat. That's bad. HA HA. I use Mane and Tail to co wash and MTG afterward.

Thanks for your comments

From the info I have it was made originally for humans. Worked well on humans and horses. One thing led to the animal sucess... horses dont mind the smell. What made me use it was the letter someone got back from the company rep giving the history of the rpoduct. Shortly after that I ordered it and when I read *on the label* that it was harmless if swallowed then I figured its a helluva lot safer than a relaxer so why not. About 2 weeks into using it a friend of mines saw the bottle in my house and said "I remember this! My mom used this when I was younger!" She proceeded to tell me about how her hair grew long and blah blah blah. It works for me and I dont mind the smell so its a keeper.

I read a post about on this site and I too saw the letter from the company president. Did a little research around here and found that people were getting 1-2 inches in a month. That's when I ordered. I went there because I want growth, I just got finished cutting my hair up in the summer on a quest for natural hair and when I decided to let it grow, I want to see how much I can get. And...well...it tightens my skin a little, so I use in sparingly, but when I am ready to jump start some growth I know where to go. It's a good booster product.

I dilute mine to cut back on the horrid smell. I mix it with other oils, like jojoba, and add generous amounts of essential oils like lavender, sweet orange, Ylang Ylang and peppermint. THis really cuts the smell.
