Hey...let's get to planning!!! My home would welcome all heads of hair (but we can FORGET the product sale.......THEY'RE MINE!!!!) But I AM DOWN for the shopping thing!!! HEE HEE! I get mad a my husband if he uses my hair stuff....even if I DO have 5 bottlesa!!!!
I'm packing away (cheeking, chipmunking, storing for the winter...call it what you want!) JUST IN CASE OF A BEAUTY SUPPLY WORLD SHORTAGE!!!!

What is MTG & what does it do?

M-T-G...Mane and Tail Groom. Product used on Horses for detangling manes/tails, combing out burrs, growth of longer thicker manes and tails for show. I usually go 2 weeks straight (cowash at night, oil the scalp with MTG, cover in plastic baggie and sleep on it) applying MTG every night, then every other day .....supposedly increases hair growth and thickness...I'm a witness to that!!!!
CAn be found at any Tack and Feed Equestrian store or at Shapleys.com. Smells like a hopt rotten sulfurated old BBQ mess, but works wonders!!!!

I haven't had the urge to break into a full trot down the middle of the street or tow a carriage or anything yet! Although, the women in the tack and feed shop looked at me kind of crrazy...I guess they think Black women don't own horses (HAHAHAHAHA) so what in the WORLD was I buying 4 32 oz. bottles for???

Congratulations!! My hair is still just thickening up there's no tremendous difference in the length.

Hey...does anyone have any suggestions on how to thicken MTG just a bit? Keep it from running down my neck...I use quite a bit.. (heck...if your dome was as big as mine, you'd use a lot too!)

congratulations on your progress. I was wondering why you take breaks from using the MTG? Do you think that it makes a difference?

Also you could try thickening up your mixture with any butters ie. Avocado, Shea or Cocoa. These are good ingredients which usually add body to any hair preparations.

I use aloe vera gel to thicken up MTG and it really work. I got the tip from someone on this forum. My hair is not greasy at all. I mix enough aloe vera gel to get the MTG as thick as I want it. I use a dropper and apply it to my scalp. I wear my hair in a wet set and the MTg doesn't make my hair greasy at all.

Oh. no. I only took breaks b/c I had to go to a few events back to back, and I washed it all out and flatironed. Other than that I've been pretty faithful.
And thanx for the mixing advice...I'll try it.

You know...I'm not quite sure. But from what I understand (and it is VERY LITTLE) the less of a coil there is to the hair the quicker the APPEARANCE of growth. That's why peopel w/ type 1/2 hair alway appear to be growing faster. I believe we all grow at the same rate (without assistance). I'm not even quite sure it's just the MTG. Since starting it I have also used vitmins...so more than likely there was some internal assistance!

Den1, what do you put in your sulphur oil mix and how much of each ingredient?

Congrats on your hair growth!! i don't use MTG anymore, i make my own sulfur oil mix and my hair grows at the same fast rate when i was using MTG, its cheaper for me lol i know that sounded terrible
