I have shedding, but nothing horrifc (in my opinion); especially considering that only officially detangle a few times a week. the other times I'm just using my fingers. Plus, I take garlic pills, so that may be the reason why i don't have hardcore shedding like the other ladies have stated.

Hello,

Been using MT on my hair for a month now. Im currently wearing braids. Its light and smells good. So far I have about 3/4" of new growth. Since proteins product does dries my hair. I've used castor oil after I apply MT.

I have used MTG in the past, didn't like the smell, and if the oil got on my neck or ears, it caused my skin to peel (very small flakes). So, I got rid of my Shapeley's MTG (though it did yield good growth):ohwell:, but I now make my own concoction, which has been VERY beneficial to my hair and scalp, and has a decent smell.

I voted for "both" since I believe MegaTek to be a very good product. Haven't tried it personally yet, but I'm ordering it soon...the smell I've heard is nice. Can't be any worse than MTG, which is why I voted for both of them. MT is just too damn expensive in my op, which is why I'd recommend trying MTG first. I paid $13.95 for a 16 oz bottle of MTG back in like 2006, and that bottle would've lasted me a year I know because it's runny and a little bit DOES go a long way.

I'mma try to get my hands on some MT, but I'm having a hard time swallowing $33.00 (with shipping) for a hair product! I used to spend that kind of $ on Nexxus before it left the "salons-only" status, but at the time, I felt the results were worthy of my $ (plus, I had less financial responsibility, and no kid). I'm more of a saver...so I will try to rationalize getting MT, maybe as a New Year's present to myself. :look: I do want to be TBL by my wedding in mid-2012. :yep:

I chose both but with an asterisk: I'm following the ladies on the sulfur challenge and some of them are using a mixture from another thread: a combo of MT, sublimed sulfur, castor oil or JBCO and even some MN. So far, I have no shedding because I co-wash in the morning and put the Alter Ego garlic treatment on for a few minutes while I finish my shower. I've been doing this for 2 1/2 weeks.

Hey how long do you guys leave in the mt? I have a sew in and I'm debating could I use it like that and how often I would have to wash my hair. Don't wanna keep applying it and take my braids out and my hair come out with it LOL.

I use the MT both ways - leave it on my scalp as a treatment AND use it on my hair as a conditioner.

I love MT. I do experience shedding but it not bad and I have used it for about a month and a half. Also I use it as a scalp leave in treatment. . It has contributed to my increased strength in my hair. My hair used to break off a lot and the protien in MT has helped with that but I rather have light shedding than breakage. I mixed my MT with jojoba oil, olive oil, vitamin E and some black seed oil and apply it before bed 2-3 times a week.
