MTG or Castor Oil

It depends on the individual, My mom used castor oil on me when I was younger, my hair grew to midback, now that I've cut it over then years and I'm now growing it back. I just started Mtg 2 months ago, i'm seeing progress, but i don't think it's as much as with castor oil or probably the same, but time will tell.

I'm going to say castor oil, because I just can't take the MTG stench. I spend too much money on nice perfumes (my other obsession) to have the MTG smell override it.

@ aileenadq - Can you tell me what brand of castor oil you're using?

@ThinNnappy - I've been mixing Walgreens castor oil with J/A/S/O/N Vitamin E oil and applying that to my temples every night. I started doing that 6 weeks ago. My temples are doing better, but I'm wondering if another brand of castor oil would be even better. Some of the ladies on LHCF like Jamaican Black Castor Oil, so I've been thinking about trying that. I've never used MTG.

I havent used MTG but lemme tell you about some Black Castor Oil:
I love it. I use it for more than just hair. It thickens and softens. It keeps in moisture. I also rub it in my skin to treat:
-cramps (WORKS BETTER THAN MEDICINE-AMAZING)
-chest congestion
-tired feet
-and the clear kind i mix with coconut oil as my after shower moisturizer.

It aint known as a healing oil for nothin'.

Wow, I never knew castor oil could be so versatile until coming to this board I'd thoguht it was just a laxative. I'm definitely trying that BCO. Thnx for the info.

How are you ladies using the black castor oil? Are you using it as a hot oil, just rubbing it in daily or what? I'm interested in trying this my hair is extremely thin.

Does it have to be black castor oil? What is difference between clear and black. I have whole bottle of clear right now.

I don't know about Burlington County. I bought my bottle in Essex County. If there's a West Indian Store or Health Food store in your area, try that store. You should have success in Philly.

I use the clear bottle of castor oil form the home health line. I absolutely love castor oil. My hair is super thick. It is growing quite nicely. I can definitely contribute my extra thickness to the castor oil. I put it in an applicator bottle and add it to my scalp. I use it on my hair line too since it was thinning. I love it. I want to try the black castor oil but never got around to it.

I get faster results with MTG used alone.
I also love the Jamaican black castor for hot oil treatment,hairline and using it in my conditioners.

Yeah, I love me some castor oil. I use it as a hot oil treatment before shampooing and as a sealant on dry hair. I think my hair has thickened too.
