MTG Mixers

I just started using MTG this week, and I have started mixing in some African pride oil, WGO, and peppermint oil to cut down on the smell. I want to know does anyone find think that doing this cuts down on the effectivness of the MTG?

Nope i don't believe so, ive seen plenty of woman on the board use this mix or similar to that effect

I think it does. There was another post where Ekomba (sp?) and someone else said they use MTG straight up and it gave them better results. I decided to do this and I found the same thing. Basically the MTG works quicker without something added. I saw results in a week more or less. Try it for yourself. I put MTG on at night and wrap my head in plastic so that in the morning the smell is gone.

true but it also depends on how much you mix it will ....
if ita a few drops just to rid the smell it should be alright

Candy I am actually doing an experiment, where I am applying my MTG/MTG substitute every other night to my scalp, to see if I get any growth. My mixture:

4 oz MTG
3 oz castor oil
1 oz coconut oil
1-2 tbsp sulpher
peppermint and sage oils

I will post the results in my Fokti after 2/7.

I still worked for me when I mixed in other oils & such.
When I used it like a year ago, my edges grew in from a mixture of MTG, glovers, and som' other regular oils that I don't remember.
SO you should be ok

I am going to try the MTG straight up with nothing mixed in, because I've been using it going on 2 weeks everday, and the only difference that I've noticed was that my hair seems ALOT thicker, but I can't really see any "new growth" to speak of.

did you buy the sulfur form somewhere?

I posted a similar question today and got helpful responses. The ladies said they have mixed it and it didn't slow growth. However it was done by seperating the liquid from the sulfur settled at the bottom in the WTG bottle. The liquid was poured out and replaced with their own oils/concoctions.

I did the same, I mixed Doo Grow oil w/ the sulfur from the bottom of the WTG container into a new applicator bottle and shake that up. 80% better smell wise.

I think if you add to MTG bottle it will be diluting it.

Maybe some of that "thickness" is growth. I have been putting MTG on my hair and my hair loves it. I don't mix my MTG, but I'm going to try an experiment to see if I can get the same growth by putting MTG on my scalp. I'm going to mix it w/ la india, and my Surge wojee creme.
