Sometimes I mix mine with my morning coffee. I also mix it with apple or orange juice and drink throughout the day (I've read this is better than taking a big dose at one time.) If you can stand the taste, you can also mix it with water. But you should be able to mix it with any fruit juice.

If you want to use it in another way, you can add it to your conditioner. I have a recipe somewhere for MSM lotion too. As long as the product is water based, I believe you should be okay. HTH

if you've not taken it before start off small, about 1/4 teaspoon and work up from there.

I mix mine in whatever I'm having that morning (water, protien drink...but I won't pollute my coffee:lol: )

Its better with something fruity, and absorption is better when taken with vitamin C.

I'm on a very small maintenance dose that may never go up any further than 1/8-1/4 teaspoon. Some people take much more than that daily.

I only take it to help keep allergies under control. For hair I have no real idea what the optimal dose is.

i mix the powder in a tall glass of cranberry juice since it works better with vitC ( & i hate orange juice)
or ill put it in an 8 oz water bottle(with water) and drink it that way

I take 1000mg a day (split in 2 doses) of trimedica pure MSM powder. sorry. i dont know of any pills to recommend

THANK YOU EVERY BODY :) :) I GOING TO TRY TO MIX IT AS YOU SAY IF NOT I WILL USE IT THE OTHER WAY YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT :) :)

If you can, skim the book, The Miracle of MSM: The Natural Solution for Pain by Stanley Jacob, MD, Ronald Lawrence, MD, and health writer Martin Zucker. The book is full of interesting information and personal accounts from people who've used MSM. The book mentions that:

Vitamin C is not required for absorption. When it was prescribed for my allergies and osteoarthritis, I was told to mix the powder with water or any other liquid or to take the pills with water.

MSM can be applied topically (via lotions or creams) in addition to using it internally. I purchase my powder, pills, and cream from http://www.swansonvitamins.com. I manage my pain better using a cream in conjunction with the pills/powder.

As another poster mentioned, I don't have any details about the amount to use for hair growth. Hair growth was mentioned briefly in the book by the MDs and in one of the personal accounts provider by a hair stylist (who also uses it for pain management). She said that MSM is good for her business and she recommends it to her customers because in addition to improving their hair, skin, and nails, the increased hair growth causes them to return sooner for services.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here.

I mix about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of the powder in a coffee cup of pomegranate(?) juice. But never sprinkle it on scrambled eggs. . .

All is well . . .
