Any of you nursing moms take MSM?

I've read conflicting statements on the net. Some sites say it's okay to take, some say to consult a physician first, some say do not take it.

I've left a message for my doctor and I'm waiting for an answer but, in the mean time I'd like responses from you ladies. TIA

I've read your not suppose to take it while TTC or pg but haven't seen anything about (not) taking it while nursing. I joined LHCF right after I quit nursing my daughter and started taking MSM thereafter....sorry I wasn't much help. :look:

I take MSM and nurse but I'm not the sort who worries much AFTER the first 6 months. For the first 6 months I nurse exclusively after that they can begin having diluted juice and a little organic cereal mixed with breast milk. As they become more comfortable with solids and less dependent on mother's milk, I worry less and less about what I'm eating, etc. with the obvious exceptions.

If the use of MSM worries you, the only comfort you'll get is from your doc. I can almost guarantee that she/he will err on the side of caution and give you a nay. The warning on most labels is an erring on the side of caution. I don't use supplements that say do NOT use or that instinctively think I shouldn't use.

My daughter is 2 now and I thought she'd be weaned by now. She still nurses on a regular basis. However, her size, consumption of solids, level of activity, etc. let me worry less.
