Ladies,

Please help me to select one of these products for my next touch-up. If you've used either or both, please provide feedback. Thanks :)

I've used the Silk Elements Lye for Course Hair and did nothing for my hair. It looked like a texturizer. My hair is 4B and very resistant and course. What hair type are you?

I've used Motions Oil and while my hair did feel great afterwards a few days later I did feel like it was underprocessed. I've heard other people say that Motions Lye relaxers underprocessed their hair as well. Also, it didn't burn at first but towards the end of the time frame it did begin to burn a little, and was a bit unbearable when I began to rinse it out. I didn't experience any breakage afterwards however. The plus side is that there is no smell to the relaxer in my experience. I will not be using this relaxer in the future however. I hate dealing with underprocessed hair.

4a, kind of resistant IMO.

I actually have started back on the Motions Oil lye because I'm going more for the texlaxed then bone straight look, it definately won't get you bone straight if thats what you are looking for. It will maintain your hairs elasticity and shouldn't damage your hair. I am a mixture of 3c and 4a and my hair can get bone straight EASY- Motions won't do it for you.

I vote for Silk Elements. I've used Motions in the past and it had my hair underprocessed.

I used Silk Elements Regular for the first time 3 weeks ago and it had my hair straight and very soft. I've washed my hair 3x since my touch up and my hair is still straight and soft. I didn't even have to flat iron it after as I usually would with other relaxers I've used.

I love silk elements lye regular formula, the key is to leave it on for the right amount of time that the jar says for your hair type. My friend that put it in for me noticed it working almost immediately...well not really...but by the time she got to the next section.

I used Motions Herbal lye but I kicked to the curb when I tried Silk Elements. So far...Silk Elements is the best for me. I do feel like I'm still perfecting my skills in self relaxing. I wish I could get my hands on Design Essentials since I heard it straightens the best.

When I was relaxed I used motions oil moisturizer one time. It burned the heck out my scalp and it left me underprocessed. I have thick, coarse hair 4b.

I had been using the Motions Salon Herbal relaxer in regular. I bought Silk Elements when my Sally's was out of the motions. I used the SE for my last touchup, and my hair came out very soft and straight.
