I feel this way. I feel like I lose my spunk and personality a bit with weaves in...but so far this is the only way I can grow my hair so I suck it up.
Pretty normal feeling. It's not like it's yours.
I can understand being unfortable.
But look at it this way: Eh...it's a protective style. >>>shrugs<<<
Who cares if it isn't yours? It still looks good don't it? That's all that matters.
I really don't look at weaves as THAT big of a deal.
It's not that serious.
....and for me it was never that serious. (I wore sew-ins.) And I say that because some try to attach all this importance and stigma to weave-wearing.
....as if my self-worth and confidence were attached to it or something....smh
Well--I'll have ya'll know that my sew-ins were worn out of laziness!
SHEER Laziness, thank you very much....
Believe you me, I have felt this way. HOWEVER, I must do what I got to do. I will be feeling my spunky self when it grows to where I want it to be. Confidence is you, and you define it. Would you feel that way if you were wearing a brown paper bag in the middle of the street? I mean one should exude it no matter what! But, I do understand there are things that a person feels comfortable in.
But I can totally relate. This is only temporary!
