more bald men? is it me? California?

i'm noticing this in the gym, and other places, i.e., at work, on the golf range, in the media.

Am i seeing a generation of more bald men? i mean bald YOUNG men.. Many moons ago, a bald man wasn't considered sexy by the media. Okay, maybe Kojak broke the mould?

Now guys that i know that have a head full of hair, regardless of their culture - at young ages are shaving. is this a fad, or just more convenient than having hair?
