I was wondering how you ladies are keeping your scalp moisturized when wearing it straight or pressed. It's been a while since I have straightened my hair and for this reason. I flat ironed my hair on Saturday morning and I noticed this morning my scalp seemed a little dry. My hair is usually hidden under some crochet braids so my trusty S-Curl spray would cause serious reversion. Any tips are greatly appreciated. I've attached a picture of my flat ironed hair.

I normally use Coconut Oil.
how do you apply it to your scalp? I know that seems like a basic question but my hair doesn't feel dry, just my scalp. Thanks!

Do you have a bottle with an applicator tip? You can melt it a little and apply it that way.

The applicator bottle worked great. Thank you ladies!!

What about in the winter, since coconut oil hardens and looks like nasty dandruff?

When my hair is flatironed, I only oil it the 2 days prior to wash day. I massage the oil in. But after I wash it and flatiron it, I don't put any more oil on my scalp until 2 days before wash day again.

The dryness may be coming from the shampoo you are using. Make sure to use a sulfate-free shampoo.

Try jojoba oil since it most closely mimics the sebum of your scalp.
