Both work great at detangling your hair and softening your new growth. I'm going on week 13 and my hair is still soft and manageable with these two products.

I don't know about detangling, because when the new growth gets crazy, I don't even try to comb thru it too much. Here are ones that, for me, get that stuff to be soft and lay down (which makes overall comb-out of hair easier for me):

Rinse-outs: Keracare Humecto, Elucence Moisture Balance
Leave-ins: Neutrogena Triple Moisture silk touch (8 weeks of new growth and loving this!!!!), alba botanica very emollient leave-in. HTH

I had mad growth but the Bed Head Dumb Blonde shampoo and reconstructor conditioner makes my growth very soft.

Megonw once mentioned that the L'anza Strait line cond and shampoo help to soften and temporarily straighten her new growth
