I am getting tired of my mango butter. It just sits on top of my hair, doesn't really feel like it's moisturizing. Users of both PLEASE vote. If there is something better please elaborate!

**Disclaimer** For those who don't know NTM stands for Neutrogena Triple Moisture

I got the same feeling from Mango Butter...I know a lot of people love it but I don't think it moisturizes my hair. I believe Sistaslick (or maybe someone else) told me that Mango butter could be use to seal in a moisturizer in like oil.

My hair hated Profective Breakfree; so I voted for the NTM which was okay, in my opinion. I think I like it better as a leave in on wet hair than as a daily moisturizer. It tends to make my ends frizz. A moisturizer I really like is Elasta QP Recovery. It contains mineral oil which I try to avoid, but I can't help it my hair loves it.

Okay, I'm glad I'm alone.

But see, I notice NTM has that big Cy-cone as one of the top ingredients. I know cones give you the illusion that you hair is being moisturized and I don't want that to be the case. I want something that's truly moisturizing. I was thinking about ORS carrot oil

I don't think I have ever seen that before.

ORS carrot oil is just okay to me. It contains protein which overtime makes my hair hard. I also don't like the smell. My hair tolerates protein well in conditioners but not in leave ins and moisturizers.

Cathy Howse moisturizer is good, but expensive. You just have to be careful in how you store it, mine turned rancid after a few months.

It's not water based but definitely worth the price as a little goes a long way. It leaves my hair nice and moist. Unfortunately NTM started to leave my hair dry and that's why I started tuning into all the raves for Nourish and Shine.

Thanks, I am on it. I'll post a review after I try it out. Do you use it on your ends only or on your whole head?

I've only used Breakfree, but I've found that it works better with something else, like Profectiv Megagrowth or RootHealth. I've mixed it with mango butter and sometimes Salerm 21 and gotten silky feeling hair. I'm 4a/4b:)

When I use breakfree, I seal with Profectiv Healthy Ends or Mango and Lime oil.

I agree!:D

I have a Megagrowth, cantu grow strong, mango butter mix and that is all I use when I bun. Make my hair really soft and moisturized. I seal with WGO in the morning once it is dry.

I just started using the breakfree. It really is good. I use it on top of the mix cause I am stretching. When I was freshly relaxed, I only needed the breakfree!

I recently purchased NTM. I don't know, it gave my hair a weird coated feeling. I like breakfree better if I must choose between the two.

Right now, my moisturizer (creamy) favs are MOP leave in, Rasta mango and lime leave in, or Elucence moisture balancing.

I know Sylver is gonna kill me for saying this...
but um....the NTM Leave In...I think that the original intent of the
product was to be used as that...a leave in...not a daily moisturizer.

Maybe that is a cause of the drying effect for some that use it in that
fashion. Different results for different heads for different reasons.

*Sylver don't hit me...*:perplexed

lol..girl u crazy.
I use NTM as a moisturizer and then I always put serum on top of that or jojoba oil. Maybe thats why it doesn't dry out my hair.
Plus I usually put it in at night and immediately put a scarf on it right after. That seals in the moisture and my hair is like Silk the next day.

I have 4a fine hair and I've tried both. My hair HATED Profective Breakfree...it coated my hair, really weighed it down, and my hair was even more dry afterward.

I tried NTM for the first time list nite and my hair loved it! I applied NTM to my hair before pincurling, and sealed with carrot oil. My hair loves this combination, and it will definitely be a keeper in my regime. This morning, my hair felt silky, light, and looked moisturized. I've heard ladies rave about this ever since I got on the boards (esp. you Sylver  ) and I'm so glad I tried it!

LOL...you know I said that respectfully...:D *throws up NTM gang sign*
When I do use it on dry hair...like on my ends, I also follow it up with some type of oil..so that may be why I've never had an issue with it as well.

Makes sense.

*Why did I think of your arse when I was restocking my DDC? I have four tubes now (one was an unexpected gift-shout out to Vixxen  ) - I'm straight for a minute  *

I've never tried the Profective BreakFree but I love NTM Silk Touch on dry hair followed by a dab of coconut oil - my hair loves it.

I'll have to try it this way. I love Profectiv!!

I recently purchased NTM Silk Touch, and it worked wonders as my leave-in, but not so much as a daily moisturizer (it left my hair feeling "waxy"). I used Profective BreakFree for a couple of years straight but I never liked the slightly fishy smell (most of the Profective line seems to have it), and it always leaved this waxy-feeling coating on my hair. However, it was effective. So, I think both work well......if your hair takes to it.

However, for the poll, I chose "other" because I know what is most effective for me. For daily moisturizing, I spray my hair with a water and tea tree oil mixture, then I spray some SCurl in my palm and work it through my hair. It leaves my hair supple and moisturized. Just as often, I just use the water and a little oil to seal the moisture in. Really, nothing works better on my hair. It is simple and inexpensive to boot! :D

Hi ladies, Profective Breakefree is a winner for me, (never used NTM). I use it after every wash and condition. I only apply to damp hair and once my hair is dry, I have not breakage whatsoever! Gotta love it!:D

I use NTM leave in and then I put the NTM serum in my hair and spray my entire head with Cathy Howse dew moisturizer. Has anyone tried CH lotion cream moisturizer because I want to try that too since I will be wearing my hair in buns and phony ponies for the rest of the year. I want something that will leave my hair very moisturized in a creme form.

I started off using UBH lotion creme moisturizer. I now use NTM as a lv in and ors olive oil as a moisturizer. I then use keracare essential oils, and vatika to seal. UBH dried out my hair alot which made me have to constantly reapply. I used to use elasta mango butter I dont think it does anything for my hair.

ORS olive oil is the best. It keeps my hair moisturized and I love how it makes my hair feel. :)

I guess I will need to try Profectiv since there are so many great reviews.

I went to Target today to get the NTM silk touch leave in, dailly dc, and shine serum. Literally, there was a GAP on the shelf with a few straggling products left and some knocked over. I didn't see the mask at all, maybe they don't carry it...maybe it was sold out. I haven't tried it long enough to know anything but WOW this stuff must be good because it is obviously selling fast :o!

I chose other, because recently I purchased a small (travel size) tube of Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat to see if I would like it better than Mango Butter and so far I do. I feels alot more moisturizing to me. You can use it as a rinse out conditioner or a leave in cream.
