I've been searching for a good moisturizer for...forever. I've tried many things, oils and sprays..I can't even name them all....and I continue to use them till I can really see they arn't doing any good. They all leave my hair either extremly stiff, even with small amounts, or drier than it was before..maybe my hair just soaks it up really fast, but if that's true...I would have to sit here and do nothing but apply them to my hair all day......Any reccommendations?

EQP Mango Butter or AB Organic's Shea Butter & Tea Tree Oil Moisturizer are excellent creamy moisturizers. If you're looking for a spray moisturizer, I'd suggest Black Magic Moisturizing Spray. HTH!

Hi Yamisgirl - Check to see if any moisturiser you use has proteins in it. That's usually what makes my hair dry, hard and stiff. Also, some ingredients are proteins which we dont realize like silk amino acids.

I use Ultra Black Haircare (UBH) moisturiser from Cathy Howse. It is water-based and has a lot of oils. Before I use it, I put on Loreal Vive Conditioner (Smooth Intense) to smooth my cuticles so my hair won't snap while I'm manipulating it to put the moisturiser on.

Good luck!!

I have been plague with dry hair. I have recently start using Elasta QP Mango Butter for my ends. I also use the Elasta QP Recovery Moisturizing Oil for the rest of my hair. I have found it to be very helpful. My hair looks more alive.

There's S-Curl No Drip Activator, Elasta QP Mango butter to seal in moisture or you can try Nexxus Humectress and use it as a leave in. I hope you find something that works.

I like the following
* QPElasta Mango Butter for the ends
* ORS Olive Oil Incredibly Rich Oil Moisturizer (oil blend lotion-- contains no mineral oil)
* Carol's Daughter Some of Margurite's Magic (oil/butter blend of essential oils)
* Botanic Oil (essential Fatty Acids)
* B & B Super Gro Grease (sealer)
* Elucene Serious Shining Spray ( I find that this silicone spray REALLY Smoothes may hair when I use it LAST, once I have used the other moisturizers above).

I have had the same problems with moisturizers. And unfortunately, I think it just takes trial and error because everyone's hair is different.

I found a combination of things worked for me:

1) Cutting down on the protein treatments and instead deep conditioning with moisture rich conditioners like L'Oreals Mega Moisture or Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment (LUST).

2)Avoiding products containing petroleum or mineral oil

3)Roller setting my hair instead of air drying

4)With all of this I only moisturize my ends starting the 2nd or 3rd day after wash day with Egyptian Magic (www.egyptianmagic.com). It's main ingredient is olive oil. Even then my hair doesn't feel dry, but I just moisturize it anyway because I want to preserve the ends. I also use it as a night cream for my face.

5)I got a water softener.

HTH
