Moisturize before I Hot Oil?

Ok I was going to do a hot oil pre poo. I am wonder, though, if oil seals the hair do I need to moisturize ->hot oil->poo->condition. I am so confused. I am running to get some more shea butter but y'all let me know...k?

I'm not too sure what the answer is to your question, but I can tell you what I do. I usually prepoo with the hot oil, shampoo, and then deep condition. I know oils are suppose to seal, but I don't have a problem doing it this way. My deep conditioners actually take much better this way. I make sure I wash all the oil out though. If not, you may end up with a greasy mess.

I prepoo with oil only, then wash and con like I normally do.

I usually hot oil with evoo. Leave it on for a few hours. Then shampoo and condition.
