For those whose hair reverted weeks after using Silk Elements was the relaxer lye or no-lye? My hair only reverts with no-lye relaxers...

Mizani was the wort relaxer I ever had. It left my hair so crispy, I could not stand it. But many like it, so I think it depends.

I am relaxing this weekend for the first time with Silk Elements, so we will see how I do with that. Hopefully the regular is not too strong for me.

I've used the Mizani Butter Blends and SE. I like my hair on the straighter side so SE was a better choice for me. Butter blends is gentler but it doesn't get my hair as straight as I would like. Can't speak for the regular Mizani relaxers though.
took the words right outta my mouth!

so the mizani butter blends is different from just mizani and the mizani is stronger than than mizani butter blends?? is that correct?

Yes...I would never use the original Mizani again - even the mild lye was too much for my hair. However, I can still get bone straight with the MBB...(mild lye)

I use silk elements mild lye. it is the gentles relaxer that i have ever used. it texlaxes the hair and leaves lots of thickness. I don't see myself switching to anything else any time soon.

i'm thinking about making the switch over to se from mizani bb. i used a whole tub of bb it was nice but it never really got my hair straight enough even if i left it on the full amount of time.

is se mega silk w shea butter stronger than mizani bb regular?

I haven't used the Mizani, however I just texlaxed with SE mild about 2 weeks ago. I so wanted to like this relaxer, and initially, it looked wonderful! It gave me the perfect texlax, but I was shedding like crazy! Thankfully, I was able to stop it with a garlic/coconut oil DC.

I based my scalp, coated everything but my ng in conditioner/vaseline, and I still feel like it thinned my ends a little even though I basically just put it in and rinsed it out with minimal smoothing. I feel SE may have a higher PH or something because it broke my fine hair down quickly! I have already reverted a little which is okay since I am texlaxed, but am so depressed that SE seems to have taken some of the volume out of my hair. I was hoping to be among the lucky ones with good results since my beloved Vitale Pro High Comfort was not available, but I will not be using SE again.:nono:
