Missing something- unhealthy hair?

Most hair care experts agree that there are five signs of healthy hair- shine, body, strength, manageability, and softness. What if you are missing just one of the signs? Does it mean the hair isn't healthy?

I think they are all relative. As shiny as your hair can be. As manageable as your hair can be. So on. Different hair textures have different degrees of softness. If you practice excellent haircare habits such as we do, your hair is in the best possible condition it could be in. If you touch your hair and it crumbles or crackles then you know you got some work to do.

My hair doesn't have body but it has everything else. I always thought body was a major one because that alone could be indicative of unhealthy hair.

You mean it lies flat on your head or its just not blowing in the breeze and swinging like the Pantene commercial?

i dont think body should have anything to do with healthy hair. Doesnt body depend on the thickness of the hair ?

i think healthy has to do with shine and strength mainly

Hmmm...

My hair doesn't have a natural shine. It has a nice sheen though.

I base my hair's health on:

strength - elasticity, splits, etc.
feel - not too soft, not too hard
sheen
manageabilty - tangles and knots
body - I'm used to my hair being thick, so body is included as a hair health sign for me

but ppl with fine hair and no body would start thinking that their hair is not unhealthy, even though it may be.
I dont think everyone can have body. or cud they

My hair will get healthy when these bleached ends are off

i think that not everybody who has healthy hair automatically has body...i have a coworker (she's german and white). she has blonde, very fine/thin hair. and she does not have a lot of hair. her hair just lays flat but it is healthy. i mean when you look at it you can tell that it is healthy. to me healthy hair is:

no split ends or dry ends
strength
and maybe shine...

but the shine factor depends on what race you are too. for example the coworker i mentioned above..well her hair does not really have shine, or blonde hair in general is not as shiny. now when i put an asian woman wth healthy hair next to her, the asian's woman hair will be shiny but it will be just as healthy.
also softness..i don't think that if your hair is not as soft, it is not healthy.. but this is just my opinion:)

i agree with u NAY. not really shine but some sort of sheen.
I think the person will have to determine if they think their own head of hair is healthy or not. You can't really tell if someone's hair is healthy just by looking at it
