No thank you Miss.Jessies, Ima keep my monies in my pocket.

I know right?!! To pay that much for a wash and go I'd hope that the water was from the tears of some lost civilization, lol

Maybe I just haven't been to a salon in a while, or maybe I was so used to paying ridiculous sew-in weave prices when I was going, but...

the prices don't seem that bad to me for an upscale salon. #shrug

Not saying I'd frequent the salon every 2 weeks, but it would be a nice treat to have somebody else do my hair every now and then.

Now...If I could make my WnG last two weeks I may have to stop by...

It would be nice to visit a salon!!

the prices look normal to me for an upscale salon. its interesting to me that no matter how long a stylist is in business, the experience/training they gain, and the cost of materials/living that people are quick to think that a stylist should not be compensated accordingly. i may start a thread in regards to this soon. when it comes to my body/ hair i'm willing to spend $$ if i get good products/services.....i may not be able to do so on a weekly/bi-weekly basis but i'll budget it in accordingly. if they didn't use products laden with petrochems and weren't fronting like their curly hair wasn't texturized/silkened, i would have considered giving them a whirl. i can't knock their hustle though.

I am impressed by the pictures. My confusion comes from the fact that miss jessies is based upon a silk or texture perm, but they do not offer that service. Maybe something has changes. I would definately go and see how folks come out of the salon, lol.

OK, I don't see any black women in the pics but the owners. My bad, the one just popped up. I'm willing to pay for things I don't feel like doing (Like shingling) but their products are crap.

The prices look great to me too, especially when compared to their former salon, Curves.

Thanks was not enough. I wonder how much the people who complain would want to be paid per hour for the same job.

The only reason the prices seem sort of REASONABLE to me is because one, it's in the heart of NYC and two, curly hair takes more time to do. It's actually quite inexpensive compared to any other curly salon.
