Lately I've seen a couple of men with relaxed hair and wondered what other women thought about it. I think its a little strange but if women do it why can't men? Although I probably wouldn't date someone with relaxed hair.

What do you think about men who rock relaxed hair and styles?

I can't see myself being attracted to a man with a relaxer since I like the clean cut look and last I checked, that doesn't require chemically altering the hair. Other than that, I have no opinion either way.

I'm odd, so I don't mind it when a man has a relaxer. However, it has to be kept up.

My ex-bf and a guy I used to date both had relaxers. I tried telling them that if they were going to perm their hair, they can't just jump in the shower, let it airdry and go. After the first wash, their hair looked chewed, because men are generally not commited to doing what it takes to keep up relaxed hair.

I'm not saying they have to rock rollers or anything, but damn, put some oil in it. Sleep on a non cotton pillowcase. Invest in a cheap flat iron. Retouch as it grows. Half afro and half straight is not a good look.

It irks me, not to see a man with a relaxer, but to see a man with a f'd up relaxer. If a man is going to go that route and risk being labeled a 'fag', then at least let the **** look like Kat Williams.

I agree that a man should not spend more time than me on their hair. Also it irks me most of the time when I see a man with shirley temple curls fresh from the beauty salon.

I think NOT!!!

On the flipside, I remember when Snoop Dog performed 'Murder was the Case' on the awards. Looked like dude had a mean press-n-curl. His hair was in ringlets and I was jealous. SO PRETTY!

Funny thing is Kat Williams is the only man I have tolerated with relaxed hair :ohwell: Maybe because its not long and actually looks healthy? who knows?

Yeah he is ok cuz he's like "Yeah I got a perm...AND WHAT!!!" He embraces it and its always looking good.

NOPE! There were some fiiine men on the Ivory Coast's WC team this summer with perm though, but still. I just don't like it!

Oh Starian. I'm impressed. Seriously. I wish I could say I was as open. I really do. Perhaps I'm missing out on my soulmate because I can't get past his relaxed or, in ANY way, permed tresses.
I don't even tolerate gel in a man's hair.

When I was growing up, in the 70's/early 80's I had two male cousins with relaxers...in fact they used to roller set their hair. I remember seeing them walking around after removing the rollers, but before combing out. It was about shoulder length, and always on point now that I think about it...
It never sat right with me tho...seeing menfolx w/ rollers...

Oh no at Ashford and Simpson  Which one is Ashford and Simpson? The woman or the man?

Nick Asford and Valerie Simpson... :) Growing up I had a semi-crush on Nick...he reminded me of the lion in the wizard of oz... yeah I know...I have issuez....

I dnt have a problem with a man with relaxed hair as long as it's short like a regular ceasar cut.. My fiancee used to have his mom apply a texturizer right before he got his hair cut so his hair texture would look straighter b/c he has like a type 4z hair texture and it gets very peasy.. Now he asks me to use my relaxer. It looks like how Diddys hair looks his hair is relaxed too btw(that's actually what inspired my SO), when he (diddy) doesn't have the scurl thing goin
