I have been trying to avoid heat damage, so I haven't used a setting higher than 5 & it does the job for me.

However with a higher temp, do you think that would less the ubber quick reversion? Even with the Sabino, n 5, I got almost instant reversion.

I set mine to 5..or sometimes 6..but mostly 5 and it does the job..I use good old IC Fantasia and it doesn't make my hair revert..(oh a friend put me onto using Paul Mitchell Extra Body Sculpting Foam) right before I flat iron and it actually does help with frizz and reversion, this is of-course in conjunction to using a heat protectant.

I set on 10 for when I do my roots when I do a BKT. When I am doing a regular flatiron, I set it on 5 or 6. :yep:

I didn't experience ubber quick reversion with my hair any of the times I straightened my hair with the Maxiglide....

I have to use 10
my ends stay fuzzy if I don't

But I only straighen my hair every 3 months or so to check the length
I straightened it last week to play with the Aphogee Keratin Green Tea I bought hee hee

i have many questions and complaints. I brought the 1 1/2 plate maxiglade and tried it once. The teeth were okay, but I switched it to the smooth plates towards the end of my straightening. It took me forever to get my hair straight, and it seemed like I was sectioning to make smaller parts forever. Was I doing something wrong, and should I have the maxiglade a tried with the wider plate? BTW, I returned the smaller maxiglade.

I did my hair on about a 6 or 7 with Sabino and it reverted with the quickness. When I do it again Im going to put it on 9 or 10. I only straighten every 6 months or so.

I used 7 the last time and my hair was way to hot to the touch. I will try 6 because 5 doesn't do anything for me. I am texlaxed.

I use IC Fantasia Olice oil serum only and my hair felt rather moisturized and smooth.

I don't use the plates with the pins any more, way too much hair comes out. I just use a fine tooth comb first for each section.

Someone bought me one years ago before I found LHCF but I've been too scared to use it. Next year, I might give it a try so this thread is helpful to me. I'm leaning towards 5 or below.

Does the amount of time you leave it on before using it matter? So does a 1 left for 15 mns before using it, get as hot as a 5 for example? I remember back in 1997 I left a curling iron on for a while before putting it to my hair and it burnt the whole section off. I had used that setting before so didn't think the amount of unused time mattered....WRONG!

I've gotten great results on 6. But this past week I used it on 9 and really couldn't tell the difference. I still had (relatively)str8 hair for about 3 days. I think it's all about technique and product.

I've been keeping it between 3 and 4. My hair reverts very quickly but I am scared to up the setting.
