Relaxed ladies, what do you use yours on, especially if you are underprocessed? Thanks

I use mine on setting 1. Although, I remember when I was really underprocessed a few months ago, I probably could've of a used a slightly higher setting. I would recomend using a setting between 1-4 but no higher than that.

I would never go past 3. I ussually try to keep it around 2. The top few inches of my hair are texlaxed but most of my hair airdries pretty straight, but frizzy/a little crinkly. IMO, it's important to remember what makes maxiglide special: the steam, and the detangling pins. So make sure you actually use the steam.

On the instructional video, they recommend doing 1-2 puffs of steam down the length of your hair, pausing at the ends, and then going back through with the heat. Usually, the steam is enough to straighten my hair and then i use the iron to smooth it over.

Also, if you use the detangling pins, it really makes you take your time, do small sections, and glide slowly without squeezing, so that ensures that the heat gets distributed really evenly. That way, you don't need the iron to be so hot.

Since i really take advantage of those two functions, I never really have to go past 2. Plus, it starts getting hot at those higher settings, so be careful!

I'm midback length with a couple of pieces hitting my waist.
I can't realy say how long it took to reach goal because I use to trim and cut all the time. It seems like it took forever though..lol

I used it yesterday on 3, and some sections were still ever so slightly frizzy, it was a bit hard to manover, im scared to use setting 4 but i may have to to get it straight!

I find I can use a lower setting (setting 1) while using a straightening heat protectant like the pink Fantasia IC serum. Are you using a straightening product with it Lonei? That should also help with frizz too.

I not familiar with that product, but I googled it. Is this what your using?

It looks like a good serum to fight frizz but it doesn't specify that it straightens. There are some products out there that will do both. This is the Fantasia IC product a lot of girls use for straightening, it works well:

Thermasilk also has a leave-in creme that's designed for straightening and eliminating frizz, I think Khnadi B uses it. Maybe some of the ladies will chime in too. Let me know how your product search goes. ;)

Yeah thats right, i'm just trying to go organic...

I used Paul Mitchell Silky Straight with mine. I think it helped straighten but it did not help with frizz. I'm actually going to have to go over my hair again today. I hate to do it, but I'll use a lower setting. My first try I started with a setting of 3 and moved up to 5. I may try it at the lowest setting today since it's primarily straight but frizzy. My hair is still clean since I just washed it.
