MaxiGlide flat irons have a steam function that you can turn on or off.

Is the steam is delivered continously or in spurts?

You press the button and it comes out in spurts, half the time I never use the steam function. ( natural)

You just press the button and a burst of steam comes out. But honestly, I think that steam function may have been too much,as in the steam just came out too hot, for my hair because I started noticing breakage right at the point where I would start steaming it. So I would be careful. I'm not going to use the steam function any more.

i think if your hair is already moisturized, there may not be a need for the steam function. i tried it on my hair twice and it didnt make much of a difference when i didnt use the steam button.
