Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

Love it. Best flat iron I ever used. I use it with the teeth and no steam usually.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

Hi Fluffylocks! I use my Maxiglide without the teeth and with steam. It can get close to the roots and I am able to apply pressure with it to get the roots straights without burning myself.

I have used the teeth and I'm starting to get much better. Its an art to work those teeth. LOL. You cant operate it like a normal flat iron by sqeezing it all the way shut or you'll rip your hair out. :sad:You have to apply slight pressure when using the teeth. But I prefer no teeth.:yep:

I also use Chi silk infusion or NTM serum when flat ironing. Hope this helps. I'm sure more ladies will chime in.

I love, love, love my MaxiGlide. I use the teeth, but not the steam.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

 the Maxiglide. Use it with the teeth AND steam!

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

I like my MG. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 8.

I use it WITHOUT the teeth, WITH steam.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

What are the benefits of using maxiglide compared to other flat irons? Is it less damaging to the hair or does it just get the hair straighter? I am thinking of getting one.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

I use mine with the teeth and without the steam option on a low heat setting. Nothing else I've tried really, truly straightens my hair and with the Maxiglide I don't have to use very high heat. Once I figured out how to use it I loved the plate with the teeth.

bumping... 'cause i wanna know the answer to this question. with Maxiglide, you have the option to use or not use the teeth, how? do you take them in and out?

i am in the process of narrowing down a quality flat iron to purchase. i bought a cheapie, and its time to upgrade.

and there are some good choices to choose from.

Maxiglide - RaSylver's my inspiration
FHI - SistaSlick's hair is gorgeous
CHI - So many LHCFers use this.
Sedu - Another good choice by some long-haired beauties here.

Without teeth, with steam. I haven't figured out how to use it with the teeth without ripping my hair out.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

I love it, I use it with teeth, without steam.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

With the teeth is a must. No steam.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

I use the teeth with an extremely low setting. I rarely use steam.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

With the teeth, with steam, and a low heat.
LadyEsquire-Yes the plate with the teeth slides out when you press the release buttons on both sides of the plate. I think it just gets the hair straighter and my ends loves that steam option...

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

with the teeth, no steam....setting 1. Best flatiron I've ever used.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

With and without teeth, WITH steam :yep: Works just fine for me. Got similar results with my old Babybliss. Still working on my technique...

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

Thanks for answering my question Harmony. I think I made my decision. MaxiGlide sounds like it the one I'm gonna get.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

evsbaby: I have two other fairly expensive flat irons and, although they got my hair straight, they did not get my ends straight at all. My ends were always frizzy. The MG gets my hair straight for root to ends and it takes much less time than the other ones as well.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

With the flat plates and no steam = silky smooth hair for me!

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

Without teeth, with steam, although I don't think that I love my Maxiglide yet. I guess I'm still perfecting the technique, but for now I don't see a real difference between it and my kiosk Iso flat iron.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

With the teeth, no steam, level 5.

Re: Maxiglide Poll ( With the teeth, without, with steam, without, love it, hate it..

The regular flat iron piece sucks. That's why my cousin gave me her maxi-glide. Also she didn't know how to use the teeth properly and kept pulling out hair. I love it, but its bigger than what I would like. I think that its the XP version. I prefer 1 inch or smaller flat irons though.

I use it with the teeth. I haven't used the steam in about a year. I dont remember what it does. I need to use the steam some time soon. I'll let you know in about a week on what differences it gives. I find that other irons can give a bit more shine and are far easier to clean. But the teeth makes it so much easier to do your hair your self. Its hard trying to chase with a comb in one hand and a flat iron in the other.

The above bolded is the reason I'm considering the MG. Do u think the plates w/ teeth give similar results to the comb-chase method? I'm really really hoping so!
