Make Tracks Out of a Wig??

Has anyone ever cut up a wig to make tracks? I am customizing a doll and the wig I got is great, but too thin. The company doesn’t sell tracks for the style that I got, so my only choice is to cut a second wig and make tracks out of it. Has anyone done this? Is it even possible?
