I'm about to get these put in, I'm not sure whether to use synthetic or human hair extensions. Anyway, I've never had them so I'd like to know how to take care of them. I plan to keep them in for 6 to 8 weeks. How often can I wash them without them unravelling? What products can I moisturise with?
TIA

A friend of mine kept her twists in for more than two months. I'm not sure how often she washes, but she covers them with a cut out pair of stockings when she's at home as well as to sleep in, and that helps to keep them looking fresh for a long time.
Based on other posters' recommendations, I'll suggest using braid spray to moisturize, or your own concoction of a leave-in conditioner and oils. Good luck!

I just got my 3rd set yesterday. They are pretty easy to take care of because the older they get, the more natural looking they get. Human hair won't last as long as the synthetic hair. I use one that's called "Marley Braid" (any brand will do). Also look for toyakalon fibers.

To maintain, spray with moisturizing spray (something I didn't do the last 2 times I got them because I just learned about hair care while wearing braids). I will try to also wash once a week.
