Hey gals...
I wanted to know what r the actual sizes and colors of the magnetic rollers. The only ones I have r the 2" gray ones and the 1.5" (i think) purple ones. Which one is next? TIA

I only know them by colors.

Gray
Purple
Orange (I *think*)
Pink
Green
Yellow
Blue

I know the black ones are bigger than the grey, they have to be at least 3". under the purple I think is orange, not sure how many inches that is but they gie tight curls so stay away unless you want that look. correction, the red comes after the purple i think and then orange.

I have these colors and sizes (dont know exact size)...

Medium size:
green (about 1")
pink (about 1.5")

Large size:
red (about 2" - 2.5")

I use medium size if I want more curl definition...
I use red if I want a more straight look with volume.

Here r the sizes... I should have just looked this up instead of being lazy and posting

Beige, Yellow, Orange, Blue 5/8"
Aqua 1 1/8"
Lavender 1 3/4"
Red 1 1/2"
Purple 1 3/4"
Gray 2"
Black 2 1/2"
Green 3" (never saw these b4)

I bought rollers when I lived in Pittsburgh and the colors are WAY off what I'm used to (Gray = 2").

I have pink ones that I thought are 2" but according to everyones elses scale pink is 1.5. Can anyone reccomend which sizes are best for each hair length as far as going for a smooth almost straight look?

Thanks CH for posting this, I was going to post the exact same question yesterday and then got busy. My question is what size/color for ear/neck lengh hair for a loose straight set.

@ Raquel - i would say either aqua or lavender
@ Ar010 - shoulderlength i would say gray
mid back (b/t shoulderblades)- i would say black
bra length and beyond - green (3")

CBG - im scurrrred of the green ones but girl, i can't wait until i need them babies.

It's time i graduate to the black ones tho... ive been using grays for the longest time.

green 7/8"

pink 1"

red 1 & 3/8"

*bump* I'm confused about the sizes and colors...I was on this other website that sells magnetic rollers and her sizes are a little different. Also, according to the Essential Roller Setting site, you are supposed to use 1" to 1.5" rollers for hair that measaures 7.5 inches. This is what confuses me the most. My hair as far as I can tell is a little past shoulders when straigtened but each section measures 7 inches or less...when I went to this lady's site her hair doesn't look to be shoulder length but yet her hair is 7.5 inches. THE QUESTION IS: What size is appropriate for shoulder length? Since my hair is not relaxed, will this affect the roller size also?

CH I've seen the green ones before. Those are hugggggeeee. I bought deeep purple ones (not sure of the size but bigger than the black ones) and was sorry I bought them. I couldn't fit my head under the dryer! LOL

LMBAO @ honi.
Lanelle - i have always used the gray rollers and my hair is past my shoulders (and when it was shorter). I am now graduating to the black ones /images/graemlins/weird.gif
Is your hair past your shoulders in it's unstretched state? If so, stick to gray...

I decided to go with the red rollers-they are sized at 1 1/2 inches...the store was out of the purple/lavender ones that are 1 3/4. I have another question: Does anyone use a hair net after the hair is rolled and then sit under the dryer? Is the hair net really necessary?

the hair net kinda keeps the rollers neat on my head thats why i use them. Because when i am air drying it, i am usually doing something else and i sometimes bang a roller onto something and it could mess up my rollerset but the net keeps it from messing up.

Is it needed for drying the hair under the dryer or just for air-drying? I'm going to attempt to rollerset my hair since I have never had it done before even when I was relaxed.

I don't know if it is necessary, but I always use the hair net when under the dryer. It keeps my rollerset neat and in place since I can't sit still under the dryer. Plus, it seems to keep the stray hair of two from getting blown out all crazy.

it does keep the rollers in place... but before i had my professional hooded dryer, i had a regular one (lazy dazy i think) and i did not use the net. it's not necessary for drying.

Okay, thanks for answering...so I just need to get a regular hair net...I wonder if they sell them at stores like Wal-Mart...

I tried it and let's just say the results weren't spectacular. I followed instructions but how does one keep the rollers in place? For example, if you put the rollers in one row then you start on the next row, how do you keep them from making each other loose? I will stick to pressed styles from now on.

What type of clips did you use? The duck clips? If not, get the duck clips and you can "clip" the rollers together (i believe that's what lindy does) and that should keep them taunt. Don't give up lanelle, im still practicing to perfect my rollersets too /images/graemlins/smile.gif

ETA: okay i just re-read your question and this is what i do... i make sure the section row has the exact amount of hair (width wise), or a little less, as the size of the roller. That way, when i get to the next row it won't interfere with the previous row... oh and the above applies 2 (clipping the rollers 2gether).

Thanks, Caramelhonee. You've been very helpful...it could have something to do with the products I used for the rollerset too. My hair isn't relaxed but I used a little Salerm 21, Pantene Relaxed and Natural Setting lotion, and coconut oil. My hair still seemed dry...so I re-wet it with my distilled water mixture and applied more coconut oil on the ends...I don't know maybe my hair wasn't "wet" enough. I did try to have the rows equal. I have some duck bill clips [I mostly used the all purpose clips though] but I'm not sure how I will clip the rollers together...I will try setting my mom's relaxed hair...I'm sure hers will turn out better.

Check out Lindy's album... do a search for her, i think her album is in her signature.
Good luck!

Oh and i'd pass on the setting lotion next time. Also, not too much coconut oil b/c it'll leave ur hair greasy.
