I used this on my hair yesterday and it took forever to wash out, and I had bits of henna left in my hair. In fact, I think still do now as when I touch my hair my nails turn black. What I have I done wrong? It was very creamy when I mixed it up and the water was boiling. It's left my hair feeling lovely, so I don't want to give up on it, but I don't want my head to stain everything... Dammit, I've just lifted my head up from the sofa I'm resting on and thats black too. Have to try and wash it before my landlord gets home!!! :perplexed

Hey Guapa :-)

When i Henna, i always leave a conditioner in my hair afterwards for a few hours or over night, with a plastic cap.
Then give it a thorough washing, the conditioner seems to grab hold of those bits off henna and help the whole wash out process go alot smoother.

Yeah, with the Lush henna you have to do a lot of rinsing/washing. I probably did close to 10 conditioner washes to get it all out.

same here........

OK (forgive me I'm having a foolish day) so you put a conditioner on, then put on the henna, and wash the whole thing out?

I had to take the cover off the sofa and wash and dry it before my housemate noticed!!!

I read somewhere that if you are having a hard time getting it out, run some bath water and lay in it with your head in the water and swish it around a bit. That should help.

No...wait.... After you henna and rinse as much of it out as you can.

smother your hair with a moisturizering conditioner, put on a plastic cap & scarf or hat, leave for a few hours or overnight, then rinse it all out.
Overnight works better for me , because i sweat like a demon when i sleep :-)
the condition i love to use is optimum
the old optimum conditioner in the lilac/purple tube ;-)
its seems to do the trick and my hair comes out feeling strong and moisturized
