Anyone here have any experience with their hair? I am interested in purchasing the jherri curl OR wet N WAvy. Can you let me know if the hair is good quality and what to avoid if any with them/the hair?

The hair is nice and more durable than bss hair. i m just familiar with the wet n wavy spanish wavy. (I know dj red alert'sister likes it .but she uses the straight and 22in long one.and my old stylist used it too for many years i love the wet and wavy on her) The only positive point is that it can be long up to 22". But i like Adorable or that hair boutique Bronx Hair Supply inc, spanish wavy better. I find it a better quality. Many celebrities use it too and i used it for many years i love the quality be it the straight, the spanish wavy you can reuse it for 6 months with no problem and the thread is very small. A celebrity hairstylist introduced me to it a couple years ago when she needed hair for a fusion. The address Bronx hair supply inc. 1830 westchester ave, bronx ny 10472. train #6 to Saint-Laurence. 718 931 6631. They ship anywhere and carry soft, wavy ,curly and straight. I may go back to them if i decide to weave again this summer.

I'm a serious LHCF lurker as I have not had the confidence to even begin to discuss my hair dilemma. I will eventually but I just HAD to respond to your inquiry. Do not.......I repeat.....DO NOT go to Lugo's for wet n wavy. Go to Adorables or the place in the Bronx. I usually do wet n wavy's for the summer and I gave Lugo's another shot last summer and it was a BIG mistake. I always go to Adorables and about 3 years ago I decided to try Lugo's. It was a disaster and I vowed never to go back again but then the cheapster in me took over last year (i.e., Adorables is expensive) and I decided to give Lugo's another chance. The result was exactly the same. The hair eventually gets matted. This is especially true if you plan on washing frequently or plan on going swimming. I have been using Adorables for years but I've heard about the place in the BX and it's supposed to be comparable. I can vouch that you will not be disappointed by Adorables. The hair stays smooth and soft even after several washings. I have even reused hair from previous weaves. Take my advice and spend the extra money and go to Adorables.

i love lugos wet and wavy hair, i just took mines out after 3 1/2 mos, and i did get some tangles, but i just wash and deep condition and it goes right back to lookin great, i have some pics in my fotki album under curly weave, all the curly hair is from lugos.. its also in my avatar, and i reuse it over and over..
so i say go for it..
but i have heard great things about adorables..ima check it out.

Asummertyme, I'm glad it worked for you because it didn't for me. The first time I used it I had 1 or 2 tracks of Adorables on the top and you could clearly see and feel the difference. I guess it's just a matter of opinion. If you ever get the opportunity to try the Adorables hair please do, so that you can compare.

I will NY cutie, i had a lady pass by my token booth some months ago, and i had to ask her where she got her hair and who did it, and she said she did it herself and she got her hair from adorables, the hair looked great, and its more of a looser wave too..how much do u buy NYcutie for a full head, and whats the cost?
thnx!

The hair is best when it's a blend but you can order it straight too. For instance, when I want a straight hair weave I get 70% straight and 30% spanish wavy. It's usually 8 - 9oz for a full head and that's over $200.

Yes the place in the Bronx is less cheaper than Adorable. Its the spanish girl that used to work at Adorable and left to start their place. the hair is banging and last like 6 months i always used it. Lugos' quality used to be good a couple of years ago i m talking 2000-2001 when my girl was using it. i heard it went downhill. the best quality so far is the one in the Bronx for a reasonable price you can get 10 ounces. The girl just looks at your hair and mixes it to get your color right there and they make it. it s really the bronx best kept secret. I used to go there a lot a couple of years ago

If the girl left from Adorables to start this place then she must know what she's doing. If it's the place I heard about, I hear it's always crowded. Adorables is always crowded too and their hours suck (8-4 Mon - Fri) but I usually order over the phone. I think I'll try the BX the next time because it sounds cheaper.

Yeah the place is sooo crowded we have to wait in line for our hair. You see mostly hairstylists there who come to get the hair for their clients. This hairstylist who used to do Amerie's and my friend Tiffany s extensions used to use Adorable but then she switched to that one cause she likes it better. Its a cheaper alternative to cuticle remy hair its good for me cause i could use it for 5 months with no problems the hair stays the same. i m trying to remember how much i paid for 10ounces 18"length it was not a lot compared to Adorable and better quality for me . i know it was definetely less than 300dol. Me and Tiffany used to mix the straight with some wavy to have a bouncy hair that resembles relaxed hair, that was my hairstylist trick lol.

would you happen to have any pics?
i am very interested.. whats that place in the bronx you guys are talkin bout..sounds good..;), is it just as good as adorables?

No, I don't have any pics. I have a digital camera but I unfortunately haven't had any time to use it. That's one of the reasons I never post because it's much better to use visual effects when trying to explain something. You can go to adorables and see the hair. They whip it up and stich it up right there. It's a factory. I'm assuming the place in the Bronx is the same because Ekomba said the girl who run's it used to work at Adorable.

Sorry i did nt see that. let me find out:lol: girl you do that trick too ahhahahha:grin: lol i wrote too fast did not see you posted that:D

edited : i do have pix let me scan one of the blend in my hair a couple of years ago where its straight blended with wavy and then the spanish wavy by itself

o thanx ekomba! i would appreciate it..i usually blend my lugos hair, but never with strait hair..i am wondering what that would look like...is it still a curly look? is it a loose wave?
thnx my sisters in weave...lol

okay i scanned some pix with the hair. I purchased all the hair from the Bronx Hair supply.
on these ones the hair is a blend. straight with a small percentage of wavy. to give it natural bounce that resembles our texture. it was cheaper than spanish wavy.I dont remember the percentage it was the hairstylist who wrote it on a piece of paper to give to the lady. with this hair i was able to use my curling iron even daily even spray with spritz for ringlets like natural hair:

http://public.fotki.com/ekomba/ekomba-1/ekay_lamont_2nd.html (hair as is -no curling iron)
http://public.fotki.com/ekomba/ekomba-1/ekay_and_lamont_bday.html (on this pix i curled the blend with a curling iron)
http://public.fotki.com/ekomba/ekomba-1/lamont_ekay1.html (used curling iron)

On the second sets, these pix are with the spanish wavy. when i wet it the curls go back into shape. its my favourite:

You welcome Asummertyme! girl i used to love my weaves so much back then. The place is called Bronx hair supply inc. it the same thing like Adorables meaning a factory where the spanish people stich the hair right there. The lady color match. depending on if you have big head or not you will need 8-9ounces of hair for a full sew-in. Me i always get 10 ounces but dont use it all. some just get around 5-6 to blend it but i only leave the hairline out. For the blending you can ask the spanish lady she s very very knowledgeable and sometimes helps me for my blends, she will check your hair and mix the hair to get your color before stiching it.

the address is 1830 Westchester Avenue bronx ny 10472 and their number 718 931 6631. you take the 6 train to Saint laurence avenue and they are open mon-fri from 9-6pm and saturday 10-6. my advice if you going on the weekend go there early as it opens to avoid the crowd. Man i dont remember how much i paid but i know it was less than 300dol for 10 ounces of 18" long spanish wavy. the blend straight/wavy is less and she can combine it for you, you just ask her. but i love that spanish lady she s very nice. I think depending on what you take you can get away around 200 something

Yep......that hair looks as good as adorables. Girl, I'm sold on it mainly because you said the girl worked at adorables. I heard about this place but I've been trying to ween myself off of the weaves so I didn't do too much inquiring. But somehow, every summer that ole fake hair calls me like crack. I was trying to reform myself because I was an addict in the worse way. Now you got me thinking about getting a weave for Memorial Day, which is going to stretch into 4th of July, and then between the redos I'm going to justify it by saying that I might as well weave it up till Labor Day. It's a vicious cycle with me and them weaves.

lol Nycutiepie i hadnt have a weave in two years and yall have me now feenin for one:lol: but i cant find nobody willing to braid my natural hair haha except one girl in queens but she gonna want to perm the hairline  .I m live through yall girl but hum a weave for summer sounds like a good idea. now i just need to find somebody that weaves good hum i could always flatiron the hairline hehe;) :p

chile pleaze, my hair is natural too, i just make sure my hair is soft i keep misting it with just for me.. and part carefully..these stylist always want u to perm ur hair..lol

I have a relaxer but I didn't realize that hairdressers didn't like to do weaves on naturals. That is so silly because the hair is covered up anyway so what difference should it make to them. It's probably more work for them and you know they can be lazy :) . Then, they probably want to charge you more money for it too.

Thank you Asummertyme and Nycutiepie.Yall gave me an idea. i think if this summer i decide to do a weave again i could either first flatiron my hairline or the entire head before going to the hairdresser so she wont slap perm on my hair like the last time. yeah i think i m do that and then for everyday i could just put gel on the hairline to blend it hum:D i may consider weaves as a protective styles this summer. I remember getting a good growth with it. Yeah its hard to get my natural hair braided but i havent used heat over a year but i m thinking seriously of purchasing a denman brush and a maxiglide so it s easier on the hairstylist. one of them told me she dont weave on nappy hair but the old one i used said i need to perm the front so i m just flat iron it cool thanks girls!
