I just put this on my ends after washing. I haven't used it for a few months but I forgot why. Has anyone used this and could you please let me know what your experience has been with it? I am trying to preserve my ends and prevent splits.

I think it is really good stuff. I have used it consistently since July of last year (same bottle of it!) and I can really see a difference in my ends. I use it with Profectiv Healthy Ends. It really does prevent splits, but it can leave your hair a little hard. HTH. :)

Check out this thread: [thread=49203] Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost [/thread]

I have this and I put it on my ends also with Protectiv's Healthy Ends to combat that hard feeling I get when used alone. This is the combo I use when I wear a bun. A little dab will do ya with this conditioner.

:)
dab of ego boost, dime size amount of profectiv HE and viola... no split ends! I've been using this combo since july/aug and my ends have never been better. the ego alone does leave the hair "hard' so you need to soften it up by using some kind of conditioner (or the HE ;) )

Thanks, CH. How often do you use this? I tried it after a wash. I wash several times a week and was thinking of using this once a week.

every single day :)
i mainly wear my hair in a bun so i apply this to my entire length of ponytail. Works like a charm. I haven't had my ends trimmed since 6/04.

First of all, make sure you get rid of all your split ends before you start using it. A few of the ladies here complained that they did not like it because it dried out their hair (this comes from using too much and not applying a moisturizer before applying and over the hair after applying) or that they were still getting split ends (the hair was more than likely already beggining to split). Ego Boost prevents split ends, it does not mend them. What it does is apply a very thin coating on the hair to keep it from splitting. If the split is already there, the only thing you can do is nip it.

Remember moisturize before applying and afterwards.

I apply a small amount to my ends on wet hair, after I apply my Salerm 21. It doesn't leave my hair hard unless I apply it to dry hair.

I noticed the other day, it has Hyrdolyzed(sp?) Keratin in it. This is probably why it leaves the hair that "funny" kinda hard feeling. Mixing it with the HE DEFINETLY(sp?) helps!

I think I will try this as well. I wear my hair in a bun daily and do notice it can get dry.

Thanks Ladies

Does HE stands for Healthy Ends? Thanks to you and everyone else for your advice.

I would only apply it to the ends, I mean the last inch at the most. how much is too much? Is 1 teaspoon enough? I tablespoon? TIA

I ahve this and never use it. Guess I will start paying special attention to my ends now....

I have this product and wasn't too sure about it. I was wondering why my hair was always so darned dry. Now that i know that some of you experienced this and have shared what you have done to combat it, I now know what I need to do to have a more positive experience with this product.

That should be enough.
