Looking for lye

I would like to know what ingredient is lye, I was told glycol acid is lye anyone know if that is true?

Yes sodium hydroxide and it is used to adjust the PH in formulations and to make soap. Lye is HIGHLY HIGHLY caustic and should be used by exp users ONLY. I can give you the details of my supplier (the best on the net) but I am curious as to what you plan to do with it.

Yeah it's sodium hydroxide. My mom used to make the old time lye soap. I'm trying to get her to teach me.
